Ranking Every New Disney Happy Meal Toy Released by McDonald’s This Year

We love seeing what different Disney toys McDonald’s will release in their Happy Meals every year.

Sometimes McDonald’s releases new Disney toys after new film releases, or sometimes after a big Disney milestone. So far, McDonald’s has released four sets of Disney Happy Meal toys this year, and we’re here to rate them, because why not!

4. Mickey and Friends Cards

Last on our list is the Mickey and Friends cards that came out in February.

Why are these last on our list? Well, most kids want an actual toy in their Happy Meal, not a pack of cards or a poster. So we can see why these may not have been the most popular toys. They do get some points for having the most popular Disney characters, though!

3. Elemental Toys

The Elemental Toys are the most recent Happy Meal toys, but they rank third on our list of 2023 toys.

These are super cool because they all do different things and look to be made really well, but many Disney fans feel Elemental wasn’t advertised well.

Elemental has not been performing well in the box office and in fact, had the 2nd worst box office opening weekend for Pixar.

Many Pixar films have been going straight to Disney+ or come to the streaming service quickly after their theatrical debut. Because of this many people are opting not to see the movie in theaters. So while the toys are cute, they aren’t quite as popular as the top two options!

2. Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3 Toys

While many were big fans of Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3, we’re not ranking these first for a few reasons.

First of all, Guardians of the Galaxy isn’t the most kid-friendly franchise. For tweens and young teens it works (depending on what parents are okay with their kids seeing), but for young kids who still love Happy Meal toys, it may not be the right market. Although, for Marvel-loving adults that order Happy Meals for themselves (we do it too!), these are fun to collect!

1. Little Mermaid Live-Action Toys

That means that the Little Mermaid Live-Action Toys rank number 1 for us!

Why is this? Well, the toys look very well made, are fun for kids to play with, and The Little Mermaid is a film that’s geared toward the age range of kids who still love Happy Meal toys.
