We couldn’t be more excited for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, which is just a couple of weeks away!
While Disney World has been decorating to the nines with new Monorail wraps, golden statues, Cinderella-themed items, the celebrations aren’t just in the theme parks! You can even head to your local fast food chain to ring in the festivities, too!
McDonald’s has debuted its 50th Anniversary Happy Meal toys, and we HAD to go get some for ourselves! Visitors will be able to collect 50 different Disney character figurines, including Timon, Tinker Bell, Cheshire Cat, Pinocchio, Dory, BB-8, and more! Some of them are even decked out in the EARidescent color scheme found around the parks to match the 50th Anniversary theming, too.
We decided to try our luck at seeing which character we would be able to grab in our Happy Meals. Once we received our meal in this themed 50th Anniversary box…
…we were surprised to find Tramp from Lady and the Tramp inside!
Guests that also order a milk with their Happy Meals will receive a themed 50th Anniversary carton as well! If that’s not a way to get your kiddo to drink more milk, we don’t know what is!
But wait! There’s more! If you head to McDonald’s between September 25th and October 1st to place a Happy Meal order through McDonald’s Mobile Order and pay in the McDonald’s app, you’ll get a chance at yet ANOTHER surprise! McDonald’s will automatically enter the guests that follow the steps previously stated in a sweepstakes to win a trip to Disney World for the 50th Anniversary! So, when your family asks if you can head to McDonald’s later this month, we definitely think it’ll be a ‘yes’ for you, too, with that prize on the line.

My son and I went to McDonalds today for our first toys of the collection; asked if we could get the toys with a regular meal instead of a Happy Meal, was told we’d have to pay extra for the toys if they were not in a Happy Meal which defies logic but went along with it rather than causing the girl’s brain to implode by trying to explain said logic, only to find leftover Disney Runaway Railway toys in our bag when we got home. After a call to McD’s manager who tried to pass the Railway toys off as the 50th toys to this collector of all things Disney, we get to go back and exchange the toys for the correct ones no earlier than TOMORROW!
