ALERT: An Iconic Universal Attraction Permanently CLOSES This Week

This week we’re saying goodbye to a truly iconic Universal Orlando attraction.

Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure

Universal has a lot of construction going on right now, which resulted in a lot of closures as well.  In fact, back in January FIVE spots permanently closed in Universal Orlando, which was a pretty big deal, especially to those families with young children. Now, it’s time for another attraction to close for good.

Back in early April, Universal announced that Poseidon’s Fury would be closing for good in May, and that week is upon us. May 9th is the final operating day for the attraction before it closes permanently.

Poseidon’s Fury

This is a live entertainment walkthrough show (#liveentertainmentisimportant, as Sage says!) that takes guests on a trip through the ruins of Poseidon’s Temple with an archeologist guide,  and once you’re in deep, you get caught in a huge battle between Poseidon and the evil Lord Darkennon.

Many people enjoy the lasers and water effects the show offers. It’s been a part of the park since its opening day in 1999, so many are sad to see it go.

What will it become?

So what will this area become? Universal hasn’t released any information on what will become of this area, other than that it will make way for “exciting new experiences for our guests.” We’re sad to say goodbye to Poseidon’s Fury, but stay tuned to AllEars for all the upcoming news on what will be next for this area!
