It’s one of the largest events of the year for those in the fashion and entertainment industry, and one where the non-elites of the world judge fashion choices from the couch in their Costco sweatpants (no judgment on that, those Costco pants are comfy).

That’s right, it’s the Met Gala! This year’s theme and dress code was “In Honor of Karl” — a tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld who helped designed countless pieces for leaders in the luxury fashion industry, like Chanel (though he does have a controversial legacy due to some disparaging statements, according to CNN). The looks donned by the celebrity elite at the event ranged from classic and timeless pieces to eccentric and…unique…statement looks. (We’re looking at you, Doja Cat and Jared Leto.) But there’s one particular look you might want to copy for your next red carpet event (or just for fun).
One person we didn’t exactly expect to see working the runway was Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney. When asked to explain his look’s tribute to Lagerfeld in an interview with ABC, he showed off his sneakers.
“So, Donald Duck as Karl Lagerfeld — as designed by Karl — on sneakers all licensed through Disney,” Iger said as he showed off his black and white Donald Duck sneakers. According to Iger, Lagerfeld apparently loved Donald Duck.

What does Bob think about the Met Gala itself? Well, he shared that it’s a “great excuse to get dressed up.” He also said that he wasn’t sure what people would be talking about tonight, but potentially AI and how it intersects with fashion.
It was tough to get a good view of them in the video, but we found them online! And yes, YOU can buy them (and match Bob Iger!) for $299.

The shoes have a “Karl-inspired Disney print” with the Donald design on the side…

…and Lagerfeld’s name on the back.

Not only can you purchase the Karl Lagerfeld shoes, but there’s an entire collection that the brand did in collaboration with Disney as part of Disney’s 100th anniversary.

From jackets to shoes, bags, and more — this collection could have all the luxury Disney items your heart desires.
So, what do YOU think of Iger’s appearance at the Gala and his Disney x Lagerfeld look? Although we were a bit surprised to see him there, it seems fitting that he rocked Disney shoes on the carpet.
