Important UPDATE Revealed About Disney's 'Haunted Mansion' Movie

Hello, happy haunts! We’ve got a new update on the upcoming Haunted Mansion movie you’ll want to know about.

Disney’s new movie, based on the fan-favorite ride, is coming soon. The trailer for the movie has shown us some of the details, and we just learned about another detail that we wanted to share with you.

Disney previously announced that The Haunted Mansion will be premiering on July 28th, and the newest update is about the film’s rating. According to Collider, the movie will have a PG-13 rating for “some thematic elements and scary action,” which may have you reconsidering whether to have your youngest ones sit this one out.

Currently, what we know about the plot is that a mother and son, played by Rosario Dawson and Chase W. Dillon, move into an old mansion in New Orleans and quickly find out that it is haunted. The pair “enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural squatters.” Since it received a PG-13 rating, that might mean we’re in for more spooks and scares (along with, hopefully, quite a few laughs).

Some of the other stars that will be involved in the film are Jamie Lee Curtis, LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, and Danny DeVito. Additionally, Jared Leto will appear as The Hatbox Ghost.
