No matter when you were at Disney World last, chances are it’s changed since your visit.

We’re in the parks every day bringing you all the Disney World news, so we know that no two days are alike. Disney World is constantly changing, and it can be a struggle to keep up with it all. There are plenty of new projects on the horizon too, and we’ve got some clues as to what might be coming next!
Magic Kingdom
It’s no secret that a new attraction is underway in Magic Kingdom — Splash Mountain is being transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure! We’ve been keeping up with the construction progress from the outside of the ride, but a new permit was filed on April 11th that could point to more changes on the way.

It looks like this permit was filed for the “Fabrication and Installation of Show Set Items,” and while that could really mean anything — whether on the inside of the ride or the outside — it’s an exciting sign that things are moving along with this attraction.
Hollywood Studios
Disney recently announced that new scenes would be added to Star Tours multiple parks — including Hollywood Studios! While we don’t have an official date for that yet other than sometime in 2024, a new permit could mean that preparations are already well underway.

The permit was filed for “General Construction,” which can mean a multitude of things — big or small — but it expires in September of this year, so it probably won’t be the new scenes just yet.
Disney Springs
Summer House on the Lake is the newest restaurant coming to Disney Springs, and we’ve been eagerly awaiting its opening. It’s scheduled to open later this year, but for now, we’ve got a new update on the progress!

A permit was filed on April 12th to install graphics at Summer House. While we don’t have the details on what graphics that might be, we’ll be keeping an eye out for any changes we spot the next time we’re in Disney Springs.
Disney World Hotels
Changes are on the way at Disney World hotels, too, and a few new permits were filed this week that show Disney has no plans to slow down! A General Permit was filed for changes at the Contemporary, along with permits for work at the Wilderness Lodge and Grand Floridian.

We’ve been anticipating some lobby renovations at the Grand Floridian, but we’ll have to wait and see if these are those updates or not!
Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney World news and updates.
