We’ve seen quite a few changes at Universal Orlando in recent years!

The theme park resort is in the process of building another park, but they’re also doing some updates in the current parks. Last year, Shrek 4-D closed to make way for new Minions-themed offerings, and now, we know that an attraction is set to close in Universal’s Islands of Adventure.
Universal Orlando has confirmed that Poseidon’s Fury at Islands of Adventure will officially close on May 9th (that’s the last day of operation) to make way for “exciting new experiences for our guests.”

Universal hasn’t yet shared what these new experiences could be. Poseidon’s Fury is a walk-through show located in the Lost Continent section of the park. The show opened in May 1999 and has been operating since. Currently, The Lost Continent is home to just the one attraction, in addition to some shops and the Mythos restaurant.

In addition to the closure at Poseidon’s Fury, the Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle will be closing for an extended refurbishment beginning May 10th. (The last performance will be on May 9th.) The show is being closed to make way for “future enhancements.”

We’re interested to see what comes in the future, and we’ll make sure to keep you updated when we find out more. It’s a good time to be a Universal fan with all the new offerings underway!

Wow how sad this was literally my favorite thing in Universal, than ET, a bit of Harry Potter and Dr Seuss. No real reason to go for me now unless they bring back jaws and Kong. Sigh
