All the Construction Changes You MISSED in Disney World This Week

Disney World is BUSY right now, but not in the way you think!

Pandora — The World of Avatar

No, we’re not talking about crowds (although, they’ll be arriving in HOARDS next month for Spring Break), but we’re talking about projects! There are a bunch of different construction projects in the works around Disney World property and we’re about to give you the low-down on all the big changes recently.

Magic Kingdom

We’re getting to the end of our construction updates for TRON Lightcycle / Run since the ride opens on April 4th and is currently in Cast Member previews. When we rode by this week on the PeopleMover, there were quite a few guests taking photos in front of the sign. It’s all officially ready!

But one thing that’s still getting some work done is the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. gift shop at the exit of Space Mountain. The work seems to be completed on the walkway next to the building.

We’ve seen few minor changes at Splash Mountain recently, as the ride transforms into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. A crane has been onsite moving things around since the ride closed.

We’ve also seen a few materials show up, as seen in the photo above.

EPCOT

Moving over to EPCOT, we have a few updates on the projects in the middle of the park! First up, work continues on CommuniCore Hall, which looks like it’s getting some additions on the inside now — possibly utilities?

Next to Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana, crews have been hard at work planting trees to block the attraction from view. We’ve seen foliage pop up all alongside the outside wall.

And things are finally progressing again at Cool Wash, which recently got new concrete poured underneath the awning. We’re excited to see how they update this snack stand!

The EPCOT transformation is set to be complete by the end of this year, and we can’t wait!

Hollywood Studios

At Hollywood Studios, we’re seeing more little updates at Roundup Rodeo BBQ. This week, the Bullseye artwork arrived next to the restaurant’s sign!

Bullseye is here!

Inside the exit queue of Toy Story Mania, we haven’t noticed any changes with the mysterious building next to Woody’s Lunch Box. We’re very curious to see what this turns into!

We’ll continue to watch Toy Story Land for updates in the coming weeks!

Animal Kingdom

The Discovery Island Trails are currently blocked off at Animal Kingdom while the Tree of Life gets a little refresh.

There are machines out for the repainting!

We haven’t really noticed any obvious changes, but there’s some not-so-hidden machinery in the area to assist with the painting of the tree.

Disney Hotels

We’ve been keeping our eye on Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort as the construction continues on the DVC building. A lot of materials have arrived onsite, and we’re starting to see more structures and frames pop up. How exciting!

So many materials!

We’re really interested to see how the flow of this area will change with the new building, and of course, we’re excited to find out what it looks like on the inside!

Disney Springs

Finally, we head to Disney Springs, where there are a few construction walls up. First of all, we’ve got our eye on the Summer House on the Lake construction. It’s coming along nicely!

Also, there are walls up currently around the Sunglass Icon store. We’re not sure what’s going on here right now but we’ll keep watch.

That’s all the construction updates that we have for you right now, but we’ll keep you in the loop as we continue to monitor progress around the parks. Stay tuned to AllEars!
