What to Eat at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Walt Disney World’s hotels and resorts are well known for their wide array of dining options, with in-hotel establishments like Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto, Kona Cafe, The California Grill among the most beloved on property. However, every tier of Disney hotel – including value resorts like Art of Animation – offer a variety of dining options. Some are worth going out of your way for, while other’s are best left on your vacations cutting room floor.

The Art of Animation resort, which was constructed out of the remnants of the unfinished and unbuilt Legendary Years portion of Pop Century – features similar amenities to its sister value resorts: the aforementioned Pop Century, as well as All-Star Sports, All-Star Movies, and All-Star Music. The main dining offerings are available at the Landscape of Flavors food court, located in the hotel’s main building.

Like most Disney resorts, Landscape of Flavors offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. To start off your day, the breakfast options include:

Waffle Bounty Platter (Character Waffle, Scrambled Eggs, and Potato Barrels served with Bacon and Sausage Ham & Cheese Omelet)

Character-shaped Waffles (also available in a plant-based version) with Bacon and Sausage

Vanilla Pancakes with Berry Compote served with Bacon and Sausage

In addition to these main breakfast offerings, guests can also enjoy breakfast sides (including steel-cut oatmeal, potato barrels, bacon, sausage, and scrambled eggs), a wide variety of baked goods including brownie bites, cinnamon rolls, apple and cherry danishes, coffee cakes, blueberry muffins, chocolate chip muffins, croissants, bagels, chocolate-chip cookies, sugar cookies, glazed doughnuts, fresh fruit cups, packaged goods, and even some desserts (which we’ll get to after dinner).

These Things Have a Cult Following

While all of these options sound appealing, we can’t help but say that character waffles are the best option. Let’s face it, they – specifically Mickey Waffles – are an iconic Disney delicacy, and offering them in both regular and plant-based versions ensure that those on any diet can enjoy them.

While there’s an option there for every possible palate, we can help but recommend the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich (or Impossible Burger for those on a plant-based diet) for those looking for something heavy, or the Greek Salad with Shrimp if you’re looking for something lighter but just as filling.

Finally, after waiting either breakfast, lunch, or dinner, it’s time for the most important part of the meal: Dessert!

Now, all of those options sound scrumptious, but if we had to go with one, it would most likely be the Mermaid Tail Cupcake, which is seen as a trademark of Art of Animation.

In addition, Mickey Mouse Celebration (dark chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate mousse) and White Chocolate (vanilla cake with white chocolate ganache and white chocolate mousse) cakes are available for purchase. These full-size cakes can feed 4-6 guests.
