BIG things are happening for Universal Parks & Resorts these days!

For starters, Universal Studios Hollywood is about to open Super Nintendo World. After that, we’ll have the opening of a new Orlando theme park in 2025, and now, a new theme park has been announced for Frisco, Texas. But besides all that, a special horror experience is coming to Las Vegas!
Universal is known for hosting Halloween Horror Nights at the theme parks each year, with spectacularly themed haunted houses and scare zones. Now it has been announced that they’ll bring that same dedication and theming to Las Vegas!

Bloomberg announced that Universal plans to open a year-round horror-focused destination in Vegas. The 110,000 square foot space will be the “anchor tenant” in a 20-acre expansion of Area15, a relatively new entertainment district in Las Vegas.
The location is near the city’s famous Strip and includes “themed restaurants and entertainment attractions such as Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart, an immersive art experience.”

Universal is known for its horror films that involved characters like Dracula and Frankenstein but has also recently been making more movies with hit directors and producers like Jason Blum, Jordan Peele, and James Wan. Content from both ages of filmmaking will be included in the new space.

“Horror is not just for Halloween anymore at Universal,” Mark Woodbury, chairman of the company’s resorts unit, said in an interview.

As soon as we get more information about the opening of this new destination, we’ll share the updates! Stay tuned to AllEars to learn more about upcoming theme park projects and additions.
