This holiday season has been rough for travelers lately.

Severe weather led to massive flight cancelations over the holidays with Southwest canceling and delaying flights for days after. It looks like the disruptions aren’t over for those traveling to and from Florida today.
According to WESH 2 News, airports across Florida are experiencing flight delays and cancellations today as a result of some technical difficulties with an air traffic computer.
Average delays across Florida airports are rising, especially those with flights through Miami Center's airspace.

The FAA has shared that they have “slowed the volume of traffic into Florida airspace due to an air traffic computer issue that is being resolved…The ERAM system is a modern computer system at the air traffic centers that handle en route traffic.”

Orlando International Airport also released a statement on Twitter noting that the airport is not currently experiencing any “major impacts at this time”. However, some flights may be affected by the FAA control plan.
Operational Update✈️
Due to an FAA control plan in place to help manage air traffic flow in Florida, including MCO, some flights may be affected. While we do not have major impacts at this time, we encourage passengers to reach out to their airlines with any questions. Thank you.— Orlando International Airport (@MCO) January 2, 2023
Although there are only 6 cancelations so far at Orlando International Airport, 70 flights have been delayed due to this issue.

While the issue has since been resolved and flights are slowly being permitted to take off, the damage has already been piling up and this will likely continue to affect flights throughout the day.
