Did you know that there’s a Lucasfilm Disney+ show coming soon and it has nothing to do with Star Wars?

Disney+ is producing a TV spin off of the 1980’s classic Willow, which was directed by Ron Howard and starred Warwick Davis. Davis is returning to the franchise for the spin-off, which is a sequel to the 1988 film. While the highly anticipated show lost its original director due to scheduling conflicts during the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s finally in post-production, and we just found out that one of the actors from the show is making history.
According to Deadline, British actress Talisa Garcia was cast in the Disney+ Willow series, news that will make her the first openly transgender actor to be cast in a Disney-owned Lucasfilm production.

Best known for her role in BBC’s Baptiste, Garcia will play a Queen and mother to Tony Revolori’s character, according to Deadline. A noteworthy milestone, Garcia will also the first transgender actor to play a cisgender character in a Disney+ movie or series.
