BoardWalk Bakery to Be Reimagined Into Sandwich Shop at Disney World

We’ve seen a lot of changes to popular dining spots over the past two years in Disney World as more restaurants have reopened.

For example, we’ve seen some restaurants change from serving food buffet-style to family-style and back, character dining experiences have been modified, and there have even been quite a few hidden price increases. But, the changes aren’t done just yet — a fan-favorite bakery is getting turned into something entirely NEW!

Disney has announced that the BoardWalk Bakery will be transformed into a new sandwich shop SOON!

But, don’t worry, we won’t be losing all those tasty sweets and treats — a NEW dining spot is on the way that will serve up bakery items! Known as The Cake Bake Shop, it will be both a Table Service restaurant and a bakery, featuring a menu with sweet and savory items and an afternoon tea service. It will open in 2023.

Disney hasn’t shared an exact date for when the BoardWalk Bakery will close and reopen as a sandwich shop, but it seems like it could be soon as Disney stated that this change is coming because there’s another “new sweet spot on the horizon.”
