UPDATE: The closure at Hong Kong Disneyland has been extended. See the latest updates below.
Almost two years later, the global health crisis continues to affect the travel industry. This includes Disney theme parks that continue to adjust health and safety guidelines as a result of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

Most recently, a new travel mandate was issued preventing UK guests from visiting Disneyland Paris. And we’ve also seen Hong Kong Disneyland Resort temporarily close due to concerns about health and safety. And now, Hong Kong Disneyland is set to close again — for two weeks.
According to Yahoo!, Hong Kong’s government recently announced more restrictions due to the rise in cases there, including a ban on incoming flights from Australia, Canada, France, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Britain, and the U.S. until January 21st.
As a result, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will be closed from January 7th to January 20th.

According to the official Hong Kong Disneyland website, all theme parks will close, but resort hotels will remain open, although guests can expect services to be adjusted accordingly.
The website notes that those with unused park tickets or designated in-park products with expiration dates that fall within this closure period will have those expiration dates extended. There’s also information about hotel bookings that fall during this period of more. Those who have concerns can contact Hong Kong Disneyland Resort directly for more information.

UPDATE: Hong Kong Disneyland will now be closed through February 3rd.
When we originally reported on Hong Kong Disneyland’s closure, it was only scheduled to be closed until January 20th, but the closure has been extended until February 3rd due to COVID-19 concerns.

The regulations for the resort hotels and other facilities are the same as they were when the park originally closed.
UPDATE: Hong Kong Disneyland will now be closed through February 17th, 2022.

NEW UPDATE: Hong Kong Disneyland will now remain closed through February 23rd. The hotels will stay open with an “adjusted level of services.” Keep in mind that this is subject to change again.

As always, we’ll continue to monitor the situation at Disney Parks around the world and keep you updated.
