When it comes to Star Wars characters, a lot of fans love the morally ambiguous antiheroes (and straight-up villains too)!
While some people will always have a soft spot for Anakin Skywalker, others may feel more sympathetic towards Kylo Ren instead. But, now it’s Boba Fett’s time to shine, as Disney+ just released the first episode of The Book of Boba Fett! We’ve been waiting for this series since we first heard about it last year but, after months of waiting, it looks like some were left a little disappointed.
Many of the recent Disney+ shows have been a MASSIVE success. Take some of the newer Marvel shows, like WandaVision and Loki, for example. Each show received high critics and audience scores, with Loki earning a 92% from critics and a 91% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Not only that, but The Mandalorian earned 94% critics and 90% from audiences, according to Forbes.
With such high scores across the board, fans were expecting a lot from The Book of Boba Fett. Interestingly, though, with only one episode to judge so far, the newest Star Wars spinoff has only an 83% critics score and a 71% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
With such a high bar already set by its predecessors, there was a multitude of reasons that fans felt disappointed after the first episode. Forbes reports that some viewers shared that Boba Fett’s character isn’t as likable as some other fan favorites, while others simply didn’t like the pace.
That said, there are plenty of fans who are excited about the new series and many reviewers still enjoyed the first episode and thought that the premiere created a great setup for the story. What do you think?
