We learned this week that character meet and greets are coming back to Disney World in a modified way.

Now, Disney has announced all new character experiences on board their cruise ships!
Disney has announced that character experiences on Disney Cruise Line ships will still be distanced, similar to how the characters are returning to the parks. So you’ll be able to meet and interact with the characters, just probably not hug them or ask for autographs yet.

To start off your trip, Captain Minnie and Captain Mickey will greet your family as soon as you board the ship. Disney says this will be “an interactive musical moment.”

More characters are coming to dinner in the family dining rooms on board the ships. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto will be in the Enchanted Garden dining rooms for “a high-energy celebration.”

At the Disney Dream’s Royal Palace room and the Disney Fantasy’s Royal Court, princesses will be at the entrance greeting guests. Some cruises (4-nights or longer) will also have pirate night, with “rowdy buccaneers” invading all the dining rooms.

Other character experiences could include Goofy stopping into the Walt Disney Theatre, princesses in the atrium, and Green Army Men from Toy Story on the upper decks. Disney has said that there could also be more characters waiting to meet guests on their private island, Castaway Cay.
