The deal includes the details that the films will play for four months exclusively on Peacock, before being released on other streaming services (and back on Peacock as well). These films will also still be available to buy or rent in the meantime. Upcoming films like Jurassic World: Dominion and Minions: The Rise of Gru are just a few of the 2022 debuts that will appear on the streaming service.

Other popular Universal entertainment available on Peacock includes the Fast and Furious, Boss Baby, Purge, and The Office franchises. Plus, NBCUniversal has even stated that it would be making original films for Peacock in 2022 as the new content will “feature titles from some of the studio’s established first-look filmmaking partners and compelling new voices in storytelling.”

Fast and Furious

Matt Strauss, the chairman of Peacock and NBCUniversal Digital Enterprises, has gone on to state to CNN “Universal Filmed Entertainment Group has been a fantastic partner and we are excited to not only bring their amazing slate of blockbuster films and beloved franchises to Peacock in the first-pay window, but also provide a steady stream of fresh, original films exclusively for Peacock customers throughout the year.”
