NEWS and VIDEO: We Are GEEKING Out Because A REAL LIGHTSABER Is Coming to Disney World’s Star Wars Hotel

Remember that time President of Disney Parks Josh D’Amaro teased a REAL lightsaber?

To be honest, we haven’t stopped thinking about it. And today, Disney has shared the big news that these lightsabers will part of the brand new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel!

The Galactic Starcruiser is set to be an immersive experience, unlike anything we’ve ever seen — with two-day itineraries that fully surround you into the Star Wars universe.

In this new video, Disney Imagineering is showing just how far they are taking storytelling and immersion at the new resort. We’ll give you a moment to watch it (or rewatch it 54 times if you need to…we won’t judge.)

 

 

Disney hasn’t stated exactly how this REAL LIGHTSABER will be used at the resort yet, however “Guests who experience Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be the first to see it in action.” They also mention that Rey and other characters will be wielding these elegant weapons to create “dramatic in-person moments previously only seen in films or shows.”

  4. Well hopefully it is not a really real lightsaber because in the movies a lightsaber is a weapon. It is basically a space sword!!!!
