It has been an interesting few months for Disneyland’s Annual Passholders!
The Annual Passholder program was discontinued earlier this year, then those who formerly had passes were given the name “Legacy Passholders.” It was announced that a new, reimagined program would be coming in the future, but we haven’t really heard any details since then…until now!
Today on a podcast with D23, Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock discussed the future of annual passes in the California parks. He shared that the original reasons they cut the program were because of capacity constraints and so they could recreate it into something new.
He said that they want to build a program that’s based on “how our guests and our fans wanted to use the parks going forward.” Potrock noted that Disney is working on these changes right now and they will certainly be launching something before the end of the year.
He didn’t give any additional details, but we’ll be looking out for more information on everything to come. Without annual passes, guests just have to purchase day tickets, so we’re interested to see what the new replacement is!
