Universal Studios Hollywood reopened yesterday!

We checked out the new The Secret Life of Pets ride, shared details about the ride process, and gave a closer look at all the details of the health and safety procedures. Now, we’re going on a ride that’s undergone some changes!
Jurassic World — The Ride takes guests into a land of dinosaurs, face-to-face with the prehistoric creatures. We shared some of the details from the updated ride last weekend, but now we’re checking them out in person!

When we first boarded the attraction, Universal Hollywood was seating guests in every other row on the boats.

Who’s ready to brave some rogue dinosaurs?!

New props were added to the ride to incorporate more elements from the Jurassic World film. Guests float along past a broken Gyrosphere and its sign, which ties in a big plot point from the film.

There’s also a nod to the original Jurassic Park ride, with animatronic Compys fighting over a hat.

Now, for the major changes! An Indominus Rex pokes its head through a wall of graphics towards boat passengers, roaring pretty loudly.

Later on, the Indominus Rex is supposed to return but in FULL form as a 22-foot tall and 55-foot long animatronic with fully life-like movements. The conclusion would be epic with a grand finale of the Indominus Rex and T-Rex battling against each other.

But, when we visited today, the Indominus Rex was MISSING from the end of the ride. 🦖
WELP the Jurassic World Ride ending is a lot more anti-climactic when the Indominous Rex isn't working! pic.twitter.com/OATJXx2KHN

She might be a bit more camera shy than you’d think, as she was hidden behind a black curtain instead. At least, the T-Rex did appear before the big drop, but the dramatic music left for a pretty anti-climactic ending!

We guess we’ll just have to check back to see when Indy’s feeling a bit more on the villainous side to make an appearance.😉 Hopefully, we don’t have another broken yeti situation on our hands. Check back with us for more updates from California’s theme parks!
