NEWS: Disney Casts Female Lead in ‘Indiana Jones 5’

As we await the release of Marvel’s Black Widow and other Disney films this summer, there are still quite a few movies that we have to look forward to into the next year.

One of those is the fifth installment of Indiana Jones. There were some hiccups at the beginning of production for the movie with the announcement that Steven Spielberg would not be directing and some writing disputes. But, filming is now set to begin this spring and Disney has announced that a new star is joining the cast.

Disney shared in a press release that Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been cast in a leading role next to the returning Harrison Ford. Star Wars fans may recognize her voice from Solo: A Star Wars Story, as she starred as the droid L3-37. And, she also has starred in her own show, Fleabag.

Phoebe is the newest cast member announced as part of the film and Disney has also shared that John Williams (who has written the music for past Indiana Jones movies) will return to score the movie.

  1. I love Harrison Ford, but he is getting old. Hopefully he can pass down his hat and whip to a new hero who will take up his mantle as an adventurer.
