Disney has previously stated that masks are expected to be worn in the parks through the end of this year. But, the health and safety guidelines across the country may see some changes moving forward.

Now, Dr. Fauci has shared some updates that may impact what the country’s health and safety guidelines will look like going forward.

According to WESH 2 News, Dr. Anthony Fauci has stated that COVID-19 guidelines “will be much more liberal” by the Fourth of July if cases in the U.S. drop. As more people continue to get vaccinated, Fauci expects that the cases will steadily decrease.

Fauci stated, “If by the time we get to the Fourth of July, with the rollout of the vaccine, we get the level of infection so low — I’m not going to be able to tell you exactly what the specific guidelines of the (U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) are, but I can tell you for sure (guidelines) will be much more liberal than they are right now about what you can do.”

This news follows recent updates from the CDC regarding how groups of vaccinated individuals can visit with each other. They indicated that those who are fully vaccinated can safely interact with others that are vaccinated.

The CDC is still urging unvaccinated people to socially distance themselves, wear masks, and avoid crowds.

However, Fauci did warn about the potential consequences of easing restrictions, similar to what Italy has recently faced. Fauci explained the situation, noting that “They had a diminution of cases. They plateaued and they pulled back on public health measures. They’ve opened restaurants. They’ve opened some of the bars. The younger people particularly stopped wearing masks. All of a sudden you have a surge that went right back up.”

He explained that the U.S. could avoid that, “if we continue to vaccinate people, get more and more protection without all of a sudden pulling back on public health measures.” President Joe Biden also recently revealed steps that the government will be taking to help adults get vaccinated by May 1st.
