If you’re a Harry Potter nerd, Universal Orlando Resort is the place to be. It goes without saying that you can pick up some unique merchandise at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, like wands, robes, and yes, chocolate frogs.
On a recent visit to the Wizarding World, we happened to notice a new pressed penny machine!
The machine is similar to some of the newer ones we’ve spotted in Disney World, where the old-fashion crank has been replaced by a touch screen!
You don’t even need to dig through your wallet to find a penny; the machine supplies one for you!
The designs feature an assortment of magical items and creatures, including the Nimbus 2001, the Mirror of Erised, dragons, owls, and more!
You can collect all eight pressed pennies for $5 — check out all the fun designs you can get!
If you aren’t into collecting all eight, you can purchase one penny individually for $1. While we definitely experienced a bit of sticker shock, keep in mind that these are also the rates you’ll find in Disney World! Who knew a pressed penny was so valuable these days?
We’ll keep our eyes peeled for even more of the newest merchandise to appear at the Universal Orlando Resort!

Wish they had these two years ago on our last visit. We asked where we could find a pressed penny machine in the Wizarding World, and we were told that “The goblins do not allow money to be changed or defaced in any manner, and that included muggle money.” Glad to see that the goblins have changed their mind!
