10 Things You MUST Do If You Visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Sometimes, you just wanna hang out in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Whether you’re in Universal Orlando all the time like us, get to go for special occasions, or are planning a trip for the first time, there are some things you’ve just gotta do. Let’s dive in!

1. Drink Butterbeer.

We’re suckers for a delicious Butterbeer when we stop by the Wizarding World. There’s just nothing like it! Whether you go frozen, cold, or warm, you’re sure to find a tasty sip (as long as you like sweet)!

2. Buy a wand.

Look, we know a wand can be a pricy purchase, but we have to say it’s worth it. Ollivanders Wand Shop has locations in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley where you can buy either prop replicas or interactive wands.

3. Cast a spell (or a bunch of spells). 

Speaking of interactive wands, these fun souvenirs let you cast spells around the Wizarding World, and they even come with a map to help you find all the magic spots. Of course, you can also cast some spells with the prop replicas, but we’ve never been able to get our form quite right.

4. Shop at Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes.

Diagon Alley has Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes! Whether you’re picking up the perfect prank or a new toy or just window shopping, you gotta check out this fabulous and magical store.

5. Stroll through Hogwarts.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is a fun attraction, but we honestly think the best part is the queue! Whether you love the ride or can’t deal with the motion sickness (we get it!) step in line just so you get to stroll through the halls of Hogwarts!

6. Watch the Gringotts Dragon breathe fire.

A visit to Diagon Alley isn’t complete without watching the gorgeous dragon atop Gringotts spout fire over the crowds. Wowza! Keep an eye out while you shop and snack, and you’re sure to catch a burst of flame.

7. Exchange your Muggle money for wizarding money.

This one is a lesser-known must-do, but did you know you can stop by Gringotts Money Exchange to trade your Muggle money for wizard money? This can then be used throughout the Wizarding World for purchases!

8. Hop aboard the Hogwarts Express.

There’s no better way to get from Diagon Alley to Hogsmeade (or vice versa) than with a trip on the Hogwarts Express. You have to ride it at least one way, but if you ride it back you’ll get a whole new experience!

9. Enjoy some magical tunes.

10. Ride Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure.

This one is kind of a given, but our absolute favorite ride in all of Universal Orlando is Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. Seriously, this is just a good coaster. So get flying.
