The Disney World theme parks are currently open, but a number of things have changed from how they were done prior to the park closures.

Fireworks have been suspended, as well as character meet-and-greets, and the EPCOT monorail is not operating. But one thing will soon be coming back — park hopping! Disney recently announced that Park Hopping will return in 2021, with some modifications. And today Annual Passholders received an email about this update.
Disney’s email notes that, as the phased reopening of Walt Disney World continues, they are reaching “another exciting milestone” that Disney knows many guests have been waiting for — the return of the Park Hopper option. Specifically, the email states, “Starting Jan. 1, 2021, Guests who purchased a ticket or annual pass with Park Hopper benefits will be able to visit more than one park per day, with some new modifications as part of our ongoing focus on health and safety.” The email then tells Passholders that they can learn more by clicking the link at the bottom.

So, one key thing we want to note is that in order to take advantage of the return of Park Hopping, you must ensure that you have a ticket or Annual Pass with Park Hopper benefits. That’s step one. In terms of the “new modifications” to the Park Hopper process, there are also a few important things to keep in mind. You will still need to make a Park Pass Reservation for the first park you want to visit. You’ll also need to visit that first park in order to park hop later on. After you visit the first park, then you’ll be able to visit another park after 2PM.

We are watching for any updates about this Park Hopping process and we will let you know as we spot any new information. If you’ve got questions about the return of Park Hopping, let us know in the comments below.

Hi! We have the theme park select pass. Do you know if we can start with our reserved park and then park hop over to any park or only parks that are within our “allowed” list for a particular day? For instance, Saturdays are blocked off for Magic Kingdom. Can we start at Epcot and then park hop to Magic Kingdom? Thanks!
I was hoping they would also give an update about Annual Pass sales….any word on your side?
