Disney World’s Art of Animation Resort originally closed back in March, as Disney World Resort shut down due to the global health crisis.

But, we’ve got some great news! Today, the Art of Animation Resort has officially reopened! And, it wouldn’t be a hotel re-opening if we didn’t take you with us!
Since the resort has new health and safety procedures in place, we decided to take a peek at everything new happening at Disney’s Art of Animation. Tag along with us to see exactly what had changed for the reopening!
Check-In and Lobby
As guests enter the resort again (wow, we’ve really missed seeing the Animation Hall sign)….

…they will be greeted with a sign detailing the check-in process. While the front desk is open to guests who need to check in, visitors who have used the Online Check-In Service and received their MagicBand will receive a text with their room number instead.

Seating in the lobby is still available during this time, but the Art of Animation Resort asks guests to distance themselves.

Stickers are placed on the seats to space guests out from one another as they wait for their room to be ready!

What Is Currently Open at Art of Animation
Shops
The Ink and Paint Shop is open and ready for business! Right outside the store, health and safety guidelines are detailed before anybody enters. Distancing markers are on the ground (in case things get busy) and a hand-sanitizing station is available upon entry.

Ink and Paint was looking as vibrant as ever with snacks, toys, and other goodies to pick up as souvenirs during your trip.

Plus, the store was featuring the new holiday merchandise that has started to sweep its way across the parks recently!

Dining
Ink and Paint is also used as another way to enter the Landscape of Flavors right now. Before guests visit the quick-service dining location, details about the restaurant’s Mobile Order are provided on a sign in the lobby.

The restaurant has a designated entrance and exit that guests are asked to use in order to control the traffic flow.

At this time, the Landscape of Flavors will be open from 7 AM until 10 PM daily for guests to pick up their favorite eats throughout their stay!

As a health and safety precaution, directional markers have been placed on the ground…

…and numbered sections are being utilized for guests to receive assistance from Cast Members.

Condiments, napkins, and utensils are open for guests to pick up on their own. Cast Members are available to help get drinks for people who have grabbed them through Mobile Order.

Each table has health and safety notices about physical distancing measures.

The Drop Off Bar will also be open throughout the day (even though it wasn’t while we were there)! Along with the distancing measures in place…

…hand-sanitizer stations are available, along with the bar’s QR code menu!

Pools
As the resort re-opens officially to guests, recreational activities will also be a part of the available things to do at the Art of Animation! The Big Blue Pool, Flippin’ Fins Pool, and Cozy Cone Pool will be open (they weren’t this morning, though)…

…as they follow the same health and safety regulations we’ve seen at the other Disney Resorts.

Who’s ready to join us for a poolside drink or two while we kick back and relax in the Florida sunshine?

Additionally, poolside activities and Movies Under the Stars will be available to guests. However, the Pixel Play Arcade is closed during this time.

Transportation
As guests leave their hotel in the morning to explore the parks instead, Disney’s Art of Animation is offering both bus service and the Skyliners.

The Disney Bus loading stations have distancing markers on the ground…

…while the Art of Animation Skyliner station has rope sectioning and other safety measures for bigger crowds.

We’re so thrilled to finally be back at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort! While we’ll have to return soon to see all the new things that are bound to come, we’ll be sure to give you a look at everything happening in Disney World!
