NEWS: ‘Burrow’ Short to Be Released Before Pixar’s New ‘Soul’ Film

If there’s one thing we can always count on with Pixar movies, it’s to make us cry. If there’s another thing we can count on, it’s that the short films preceding the main attractions are scene-stealers!

In case we weren’t already excited enough for Pixar’s newest movie, Disney announced the short film that’s set to play in theaters before Soul!

It feels like we’ve been feverishly waiting forever for Soul — ya know, that emotional powerhouse of a movie about jazz… and discovering the meaning of souls. We’re still waiting until November, but adding to the anticipation is the announcement of an accompanying SparkShorts film, Burrow!

Pixar has a knack for using adorable critters to yank on our heartstrings, and this rabbit-focused venture surely won’t disappoint.

In a tweet, Disney pronounced, “Home is where the hare is,” and revealed concept art for the bunny flick, directed by Madeline Sharafian, and slated to run before Soul starting November 20.

The artwork alone has us teary-eyed, with a bunny at the bottom of a burrow. Nestled beneath a network of different underground rooms filled with exercising moles, hungry chipmunks, and lounging salamanders, the bunny is all by himself, and looks like he needs a hug.

Get the tissues ready.

Safe to say that whatever Pixar and SparkShorts have cooked up will be incredible. For now, we’ll just have to wait until November to burrow underground and find out!
