Universal Orlando’s Hagrid’s Motorbike Adventure is Closed Today Following a Backstage Fire

We love saying “hello to our good friend Hagrid as we speed past him on Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure in Universal’s Islands of Adventure in Orlando.

But it looks like we won’t be seeing any of Hagrid and his magical creatures today as the attraction is currently closed.

According to ClickOrlando.com, a Universal theme park representative confirmed that a small fire started backstage at the attraction on Tuesday, August 11th. Guests were escorted away from the ride and the fire was extinguished rapidly.

Thankfully, the fire did not result in any injuries. A theme park representative from Universal also confirmed to News 6 that the attraction would remain closed today, Wednesday August 12th. We checked on the Universal FL App and the attraction did appear as “Closed” today.

Hagrid’s is definitely a fan-favorite, particularly for thrill-seekers looking for the unique opportunity to ride a coaster in a motorbike or sidecar. We can’t say for sure when it will be back up and running again, but we are hopeful that Hagrid’s won’t be closed for too long. According to ClickOrlando.com, a park spokesperson said their teams are “working to reopen the ride as soon as possible.”
