Meet Maya: A New Character Coming to The Proud Family Reboot on Disney+!

Thanks to Disney+, we’re getting the chance to revisit some of our favorite characters through exciting reboots and new movies!

While some of the new Disney+ projects appear to still be on hold (come back to us Lizzie McGuire!) at the moment, others, like the reboot of The Proud Family, are still being worked on and are headed our way! Now, we’ve got news about a new character that will be joining in on the fun when the reboot of The Proud Family premieres on Disney+!

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, a reboot of the original The Proud Family show from Disney Channel, has been officially announced as a new Disney+ series that will be coming soon! Although we don’t know when the new show will premiere, we’re excited to catch up with Penny Proud and her family after so many years apart!

Recently, Disney+ released some exciting information on their Instagram about a new character that will be joining Penny and her family in this reboot. Meet Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins! Maya is a 14-year-old activist who will be a part of this new series!

Keke Palmer will be voicing this new character. True Disney fans will recognize Keke Palmer from the Disney Channel Original Movie Jump In! (let’s be honest, we all definitely bought a jump rope after that movie!). We’re excited to see Maya Leibowitz-Jenkins interact with Penny Proud and learn more about her story in the new show!
