The events sold quickly, with many past runDisney events having held open availability for months after opening registration. At this time, Disney has not confirmed or made any sort of statement regarding reduced capacity for the 2021 Marathon Weekend.

  1. I was able to sign up for Dopey. I was also able to sing my wife up for the 5K and 10K. My friend who got on the website at the same time as I did was unable to sign up for Dopey. The only thing available to him was the Marathon.

We have been planning this for over a year and he got locked out.

  2. This is garbage! I got absolutely screwed! I was checking out same time as the rest of my party heading down for the races. They got in a I didn’t. This is crap. First year I signed up for the dopey, I was able to sign up in July. There is NO WAY Disney didn’t cut the amount of entries!

  3. I don’t think there is any doubt RunDisney reduced the number of entries significantly. No way all these races sell out that fast otherwise. I can’t help but wonder if they won’t review ‘conditions’ in a few months and reopen registration if warranted.

  4. I tried registering yesterday at noon and it was sold out. I ran it last year and wanted to try the Dopey Challenge. Really sucks

  5. Well, I tried registering at 10:00 AM yesterday, and Everything was already sold out. Plenty of charities and travel agents had/have astronomically priced tickets though. It really sucks being a pass-holder during the pandemic! 😷

  6. Wasn’t able to get registered as got on late 🙁 Bummed as I have run the race for past 15 years. Think that they must have cut the number of spots as well as people using their transfer from the Star Wars race. This is the fastest sell out in a longgggggg time.

  7. I registered as an annual pass holder. On the site at 9 when it opened, was able to begin my registration for my wife and I at 9:30. By the time we could select, everything was sold out except the marathon (what we were signing up for, forunately!). Completed registration at 9:50am.

  8. I tried to register as an annual passholder last week and when I got to the pay screen it said it was sold out. 🙁 Today we got in the virtual queue at 9:59 and were let into the registration at 10:14. We were able to register for four of us for the half marathon. I was really nervous after being shut out of the presale. I can’t believe it sold so fast and I’ll be interested to see if they have reduced capacity. We have been going since 2008!
