Currently, the statewide stay-at-home order in the state of Florida is set to expire on Thursday, April 30th. However, no hard date for when businesses can begin to reopen has been set. DeSantis mentioned that reopening the state would be a “methodical approach.”

Recently, the Reopen Florida Task Force, which includes Disney World’s President Josh D’Amaro, have been meeting on a regular business to discuss the possible protocols and measures needed in order to safely reopen the state. Additionally, the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force has begun meeting to discuss guidelines for the county, which includes the Orlando theme parks such as Disney World.

  1. Would love to see Disney “test the waters” by opening up to Florida Resident pass holders, first. The state will more than likely follow suit, like other states, and open up on May 1st. The problem with that is there will be more tourists coming in from “covid-19 hot spots”. There aren’t many areas that have mass testing, which we really need.
I would also like to see Disney mail the annual passholder magnets we missed from the Flower and Garden festival

    1. Brenda, I agree with your concerns about “hot spot refugees” swarming into your state. I’m from TN and we are relatively “safe” at this time. I have to admit that I feel “un-neighborly” when I see New York tags on a vehicle in our area, as I would probably distance myself from danger if I lived there also. This pandemic makes you ponder your ethics as to where you want to draw your own border. Is this going to be a new form of sterotyping people simply because they live in a certain state that happens to have a high number of infected people? I feel for Orlando and coastal area residents as they are going to be forced to accept the higher risks of contamination that comes with all those “damn tourist” when things do open up.
