Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, recently formed a task force to develop a process to re-open the state’s businesses.

The task force is made up of major local business leaders, including the President of Walt Disney World Josh D’amaro. But now, the task force is asking for Floridians opinions to guide their decisions!

The task force has met a few times already to discuss how to safely re-open businesses like restaurants, theme parks, and cruises. Records for these meetings have been made public and you can see notes from the most recent one here.

Welcome to Disney!

Now, Florida residents are able to submit their opinion on when and how the state should re-open directly to the task force. A release stated that “Public feedback will be a critical component of the Task Force’s final report to Governor Ron DeSantis.” A new online portal launched for residents to submit their opinions. According the the release, the public will be able to direct their comments directly to different areas including tourism, healthcare, and education.

  1. Keep parks to just Americans until the virus is clear. Once we get control of the virus as well as other countries open it back up.

  2. My comment is actually directed at DisneyWorld reopening, so it is a bit off topic from this article.
I wish Disney would consider a soft opening where only “at risk” guests are allowed in for the first week. This would allow all the “Make A Wish” kids as well as other documented at risk health folks to visit the park at it’s cleanest. Thankfully, we do not have any family that falls into this group, but I would gladly wait an additional week to enjoy Disney if it meant that a large number of deserving kids would get an opportunity to visit the parks first while they are at their cleanest and presumably safest. I do realize that it is possible these families may still not feel safe traveling at this time so I may be asking for something they wouldn’t even be interested in attempting at this time.
