If you’ve got dreams of Disney Stardom, this might just be your big break. Disney has just announced an official casting call for the Disney Channel!

Disney is looking for new talent, able to play between the ages of 8 and 16. If you think you’ve got what it takes, check out the info below!
The process starts at Disney’s official casting site, where prospective performers will be asked to record themselves reading a short script. You don’t need anything fancy to get started; just your cellphone or digital camera, a plain background, and your winning personality. Oh, and the permission of a parent or guardian if you’re under the age of 18, of course.
This casting call is open to everyone, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, or any other characteristic. So long as you can convincingly play someone under the age of 16, you’ve got a chance at fame and glory.
Here are some tips, provided by Disney themselves, to help you make your audition absolutely perfect!
- Don’t spend any money: You don’t need anything but yourself and the camera you’ve already got in your pocket for this audition. Don’t worry about splurging on sets, fancy DSLR cameras, or special lighting. Also, especially don’t pay any money for the opportunity to audition. Disney will never charge you for an audition. If someone claiming to represent the Disney Channel tries to charge you a fee for the privilege of performing, they’re trying to pull a fast one on you.
- Be sure to record in landscape mode, and capture your head and shoulders in frame. They recommend leaving about an inch above your head, and filming in front of a plain background like a wall.
- Make sure you’re well lit! Try to avoid any distracting shadows! Can’t do an audition if no one can see you!
- Speak loud and clear! They’ve got to be able to hear your performance!
- Finally, be yourself! Wear clothes that make you feel awesome, and let your brilliant personality shine through!
We’ll be rooting for ya, kid. Now go out there and break a leg!
