ATTENTION: Anyone who’s ready to fly over Walt Disney World…
It has just been announced that the Disney Skyliner will officially open on September 29, 2019!
The all-new transportation system will provide access to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and International Gateway at Epcot from Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach Resort, and the new Riviera Resort (opening this December).
The Skyliner Gondolas can fit up to 10 people each, and can also accommodate wheelchairs/ECVs. Rides are predicted to take about 15 minutes from a resort to a park.
The Gondolas themselves are brightly colored, with several of them sporting characters from favorite Disney universe films. These include Toy Story, Coco, Winnie the Pooh, Star Wars, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, Guardians of the Galaxy, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
While the Skyliner is opening after Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the Epcot Food and Wine Festival start date, we predict the new system will be very popular in transporting guests who want to enjoy these offerings!

One more thing, they should NOT allow wheel chairs nor scooters on these. They always cause major stoppage. They aren’t allowed on the boats and should not be on these either.
Which boats are you thinking of? You can take ECVs and wheelchairs on the FriendShips and the ferries. You can’t take them on the launches that run from Magic Kingdom to the resorts, but that doesn’t have anything to do with them slowing down the boarding process.

We are going Sept 7 to the 15. I was shocked to see Starwars land opening BEFORE we are going but even more shocked the skyliners won’t be open. Come on Disney!!!!!
Yay!! So excited! We arrive October 9th & the kids will love this, as well as the adults! 😉
Time to find out if all the people who say it’s going to be hot, it’s going to get hit by lightning, it’s going to stink, it’s too small, it’s too slow……are right. FYI, I’ve have not uttered one bad word about it. One of the very few New things I think i might like.
