Walt Disney World theme parks are full of attractions, shows, and dining you can’t do anywhere else! Where else are you going to fly on an elephant or hug a Wookiee? OK, maybe in Disneyland… but after that, then where?

But did you know there are several activities outside of the parks that can make your vacation far from ordinary? Here are a few of our favorites!

Where can you cruise in a old car, on the WATER?! At Disney Springs, of course! As part of the Boathouse Restaurant in the Landing, you can hop aboard a classic car, and your captain will take you on a cruise around the lake. This is the only place in the whole world (not just Disney World) you can do this! Up to four guests can fit in each car, and they are available from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., weather permitting. A ride in one of these incredible vehicles is $125 and 20 minutes long. Make sure to ask about Annual Passholder or DVC discounts as they do offer them from time to time.

Imagine being fully immersed into an alternate reality where you can have a food fight with Ralph or assist the Star Wars Rebel Alliance in a galaxy far, far away. The VOID is an all-new, total sensory experience at Disney Springs. Using virtual reality, state-of-the-art technology, and interactive sets, you and your team are dropped into the story and set off to complete your mission. Currently, two adventures are available: STAR WARSTM: SECRETS OF THE EMPIRE and RALPH BREAKS VR. Tickets can be purchased in advance at The VOID’s website. We promise this is an experience unlike anything you’ve done before. (Click HERE to read a review of the Secrets of the Empire experience or HERE to read about Ralph Breaks VR.)

Have you ever wondered what Walt Disney World looks like from the sky? Well hop aboard the “Aero 30” Balloon at Disney Springs to find out! You’ll be lifted 300 feet in the air, where you’ll have a 10-mile panoramic view of Walt Disney World. Don’t worry about floating away though, as you’re tethered to the ground. The flight is between 8-10 minutes long, and is $20 for adults and $15 for kids. If you go before 10 a.m. however, tickets for everyone are just $10.

4. Character Couture Makeovers
Little princesses have been transformed into their favorite royals for almost 15 years at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. And now, teens and adults can have their own magical makeover! Available at the spas at The Grand Floridian, Coronado Springs, and The Beach Club, Character Couture Makeovers can magically turn you into your favorite character! Any classic character can be chosen — from princesses to villains, and galactic heroines to Pixar pals. There are three levels of Character Couture Makeovers to choose from — Storybook Style, Magical Makeover, and Timeless Transformation. The makeovers increase in price and services with each level, however, all of them include a tiara. To book your makeover call 407-939-7727 and soon you’ll feel like Cinderella getting ready for the ball!
