The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train official Dedication Ceremony was held on May 2, 2014. Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Chairman Tom Staggs was joined by Snow White and all Seven Dwarfs who proudly brought their freshly mined gems: buckets of glowing diamonds and jewels and wheelbarrows stacked with over-sized rubies, emeralds and sapphires. “It’s my honor to dedicate the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which we think will become an instant classic in New Fantasyland,” said Staggs.
After the ceremony I was walking around the Mine Train and found a large group of Imagineers and Cast Members signing a large blue “gem”. Once I realized what was happening, I knew this would be a great photo op. I asked if I could take a photo of the group and they kindly obliged.
The large blue gem is being held by Imagineer Ben VanBeusekon.
