All of the work at Magic Kingdom is coming along nicely!
The work on the exterior of the Confectionery has been completed and the scrims are down.
Patriotic bunting was up on some of the shops in celebration of the Fourth of July.
A lot of progress has been made on the Beast’s castle and Maurice’s cottage.
Some construction work was visible just behind the wall near Dumbo.
The exterior of the Little Mermaid ride is getting more and more detailed.
The Fantasyland Skyway Station has been completely demolished.
The walkway behind the Mad Tea Party has been walled off due to construction.
The Little Mermaid’s building is visible from the path next to the Tomorrowland Speedway.
Storybook Circus is coming along quickly. The Winnie the Pooh and friends meet-and-greet has been moved in front of this wall. It’s on the path next to the Tomorrowland Speedway.
Blackbeard now makes an appearance at the beginning of Pirates of the Caribbean instead of Davy Jones.

Though I believe that I read that the Blackbeard effect is only temporary and Davy Jones will be restored at some point. Can anyone verify?
Sad to see Pirates lost Davy Jones. He’s a lot creepier to “go through” than Blackbeard. Thanks for the update!
So glad to see Blackbeard instead of Davy Jones on Pirates… I wasn’t going to bring my daughter on it for that reason- Davy Jones is just plain scary! Now she can experience it with us in October!!
I hear that they are replacing the skyway building with restrooms. Do you think they will be starting that soon? We will be coming down at the end of Aug.
I’m sad to see the Skyway station torn down. It was a part of Magic Kingdom history. At least now I won’t be as shocked when I go to park the stroller in that area this Sunday!
Thank you so much for all the wonderful update information and photos. Our family will be vacationing at Disney in Nov/Dec and I look forward to your blogs and being able to see the progress that is being made. It is exciting to watch as the park expands and grows and knowing that I will be there to experience it all in just a few short months!
