It was my very good fortune to spend the day recently with Scott Mayerowitz from ABC News. You can imagine our mission: we were looking for Hidden Mickeys around Walt Disney World!
Charles from Disney accompanied Scott, Vickie (my wife) and me around WDW property. In the photo, from left to right, are Charles, Scott, myself and Vickie.

Charles first showed us the backstage way into the Magic Kingdom one hour before the official opening time. Looking for Hidden Mickeys in an empty park is a blast! The first Hidden Mickey that I showed Scott was the tiny classic (three-circle) Mickey in the Aladdin display in an outside window of the Emporium store on Main Street, U.S.A.

We then popped into the Polynesian and Wilderness Lodge Resorts for some of my favorite resort Hidden Mickeys. Scott marveled at the purple tile classic Mickey on the counter at the Kona Island Coffee Bar, second floor of the Polynesian.

We next explored Epcot, with a huge lunch at Teppan Edo in Japan (thanks, Charles!) and then on to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The classic Mickey in green paint on the merchandise bureau inside the Stage 1 Company Store was hidden by a coffee mug, but it was easily brought back into the light.

Our last stop was Disney’s Animal Kingdom. On the Kilimanjaro Safaris ride, I showed Scott the flamingo island classic Mickey, located to the left of the safari vehicle in the elephant area. The landscapers try to maintain this island in the shape of Mickey’s head and ears. You can just make out the Mickey shape, his head is toward the left lower part of the photo and one ear is at the right middle:

Vickie and I had mentioned to Charles that our son Steven graduated from Auburn University. At one point, Charles disappeared for a few minutes and returned with a Disney pin which referenced Georgia and Auburn Universities, a storied rivalry:

In this photo, Steven and I hold up the Auburn-Georgia pin:
