Disney’s Hollywood Studios Holidays

I enjoyed Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently with my wife Vickie and her mother Elizabeth. The dark photo below was taken at the rear of the Voyage of the Little Mermaid theater.

This attraction is one of our perennial favorites.

Vickie’s mother appreciates the shows around WDW, so we can’t tour DHS without catching a performance of Beauty and the Beast. We sat on the front row and felt the full force of the outstanding acting.

Next it was onto the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights. Disney states that there are at least 36 Hidden Mickeys in the lights along the Streets of America.

I think some of the images are decorative, but a few are decent Hidden Mickeys.

My friend Jim told me a story about these famous lights. It seems that when Mr. Osborne shipped his lights to WDW, an outline of a cat was mixed in with the regular lights. Each year, the Cast Members hide this cat in a different place along the Streets of America. I found it (OK, I admit, with the help of a Cast Member) on a rooftop to the right of the “Honey I Shrunk the Kids” marquee.

The next time you’re admiring the Osborne Lights, try to find the Family Cat!
