There was 11 of us and we had the first seating. The food was hot and there was a nice selection of things to try. THey had us at 2 different tables party of 6.
The characters only came around once. Anastasia went to the table with my 2yr old great granddaughter but never came to the other table with the 6 adults. When I said something I was told she was gone until the next seating.
THe characters were Cinderella, Prince Charming, Fairy Godmother and Anastasia.
I didn't like the fact that they fill up the restaurant, feed everyone and then everyone leaves and the next set of reservations come in.
Pros:
food was hot and goodCons:
I didn't like that they had seating times.Reviewed by mommom Review Date: 10/06/2015

Had 2 studios, 1 a savannah view and 2 bedroom villa. Everything was clean and working. Mu 2 studios were ready upon check-in but the 2 bedroom villa was not.
had dinner reservations and tickets to the MNSSHP. I wasn't able to get dress for the party because my room wasn't ready.
I really enjoy the resort and the animals. My great granddaughter really enjoyed the pool and the community room.
Pros:
themeCons:
room wasn't ready and never received a call when it was. Had to call front desk when I was done with the MNSSHP.Review of Riverside Mill Breakfast

Everyone said this place gets insanely busy after 8 AM, I'd say after 7:30 the food court was very busy. They provide a decent breakfast relatively quickly so you can get on with your day. I'd say stick to the Mickey waffles with the bounty platter, I forgot how great those taste! The scrambled eggs left a lot to be desired as they are made in large batches. Bacon was usually pretty limp, not crispy how we prefer it, but the sausages were very tasty. Plenty of options just be ready for a huge rush. Wish they opened at 6 or 6:30 to help early risers avoid the madness.
Coffee wasn't always available at the drink area which led to some other guests being vocal about their dissatisfaction. Ice for soft drinks was unavailable at times also.
I know there are better options for breakfast out there (Chef Mickey's, Tusker House) but if you need something quick and don't want to settle for in-room coffee and a granola bar that you brought from home, this will get the job done.
Pros:
Bounty platter, Mickey wafflesCons:

There was some construction during the day while we were there, but other than that this resort is wonderful. It is beautifully themed, spacious rooms, not a bad view, and watching fireworks from Magic Kingdom and the Electric Water Pageant is a bonus. It was a quick boat ride to Magic Kingdom. For being a huge resort it is very quiet...with the exception of Whispering Canyon (those of you that have been there will understand) which is not supposed to be quiet. Would definitely stay here again
Pros:
close to Magic Kingdom, beautiful resort, spacious roomCons:

Stayed in Kidani Village 9/27 - 10/02 and had a great time! Ate at Sanaa first night and it was wonderful! Loved Boma at Jambo house too! Best part about the resort is the Savanna view from our room and the room itself. Very cool getting to see all the animals from your balcony. The theming was outstanding and my husband and I enjoyed the pool. The slide was super fun!
Only major downsides, and would keep me from staying here again, is the sprawling resort area. Our room was on the 4th floor and it was literally a 1/4 mile walk from our lobby to our room. I understand that is because of the shape of the buildings because of the savanna, but it was very inconvenient. I also did not like being so secluded. This resort was far away from anything else except Animal Kingdom park (which is not my favorite). If you enjoy the other 3 parks more and like being close, this resort may not be for you.
Otherwise, everything else was great!
Pros:
Theming, Pool, Room, Room View, LobbyCons:

Incredible experience from beginning to end. Service was wonderful, charming and genuinely happy to be there. I had the polenta with meatball, sausage and short rib. I'm a big guy and I had trouble finishing it, but it was phenomenal. My fiance had the filet of sole which was very good but she said my dish was far superior. She did greatly enjoy her tiramisu and the lemon ricotta cheesecake I had was delicious as well. A fantastic dining establishment and I would HIGHLY recommend if you're looking for quality Italian fare that isn't your typical red sauce classics.
Pros:
Service, atmosphere, delicious foodCons:

I enjoyed the variety of food at the buffet, both African inspired and not. My husband and I both loved the french toast pudding. Yum! We didn't have to wait too long after checking in, maybe 5 minutes. They also have the best juice (some passion fruit mixture if I remember correctly).
I have a peanut and tree nut allergy and the server was very happy to contact the kitchen to have one of the chefs come out and point out which foods would be off limits. I'm usually pretty good about knowing what to avoid, but I appreciated the assistance very much.
I will say that it was very busy and kinda loud while we were there, but it was an open area so it kinda echoed. The lines at the buffet were long and didn't move very fast. You definitely won't be able to have your meal fast here.
Also, I was looking forward to trying those Zebra dome things every raves about, and they weren't there! So sad!
Pros:
Variety of food, Awesome atmosphereCons:

I booked this reservation 180 days out because you have to nowadays, and I'm glad I did! The food was so good! And the prices were reasonable! My husband had the Croque Monsieur and I had the Braised Pork. Super filling and yummy! We shared the Master's Cupcake and it was great! A little small, but still good.
The three dining rooms were all themed so amazingly. We ate in the ballroom but looked around at the other rooms and the West Wing was cool too. I really liked the ballroom windows that showed snowing outside.
I will say that the place was loud and lots of people were everywhere. I'm sure that is normal since it is so popular, but it was just surprising.
Overall, it was a great quick service meal and we would go back!

MDE worked very well on a recent trip; allowed us to make change son the fly to fastpasses, and when we had to cut our trip short unexpectedly, the reminder emails of meal reservations allowed us to easily cancel all reservations and fastpasses that we wold not be able to use.

Loved this place! Honestly, the reason I even wanted to go was because they serve Tonga Toast and I had never had. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Soooooooo yummy. My husband the breakfast platter and he loved it and walked away full (hard to do!).
My only complaint was just about the wait staff. Our server was quite slow and breakfast would have been a lot quicker with another one. But maybe she was having an off day.
Overall, I would definitely go again!
