I'm not a fan of the concept of the new fastpass system, for a number of reasons pointed out in numerous reviews here, but we're stuck with it. So in terms of how it worked, it pretty much worked as advertised. I had no problems making changes, and even adding new ones after we used our original 3. I did not like how it assigns you 3 when first setting them up, making you then change the ones you don't want. I also did not like that when park hopping, you have to be in that park to get an additional fastpass. We were in Epcot and about to head to MK, and wanted to get a fastpass for the one thing we could not do at MK the day before. But we would have had to travel all the way to MK without even knowing if any fastpasses were left. No thanks. Here's hoping that Disney continues to make improvements.

I attended last night (it was my 3rd time, my 23 y/o son's 1st) and had a blast. Since I live really close by, I am able to go to the parks very often. The Halloween party crowds are the most polite I ever encounter! Everyone is happy, the costumes are great and the cast members are really into the fun. The Headless Horseman and fantastic parade are worth the entry price alone.
Pros:
Amazing parade, terrific Cast Members, polite guestsCons:

great selection of food and my great granddaughter loved the characters. we were a party of 11 and they seated us at 3 tables but next to one another. it was easy getting out of our seats to get our food.
Had to wait a while for our tables and it was pouring outside. waitress was good and took our dishes in a timely manner. a yes for a family with small children

We were a party of 11 and we were seated at a window which was really dirty. The restaurant itself was clean.
the food was good and they had both breakfast and lunch items. the potatoes were a big hit. my dad really enjoyed the ham. the salads were fresh and a nice selection of desserts.
being a big party it is hard to please everyone but Chef Mickey did a great job.
they photographer spent a nice amount of time with us and we got a great picture of my great granddaughter.
did use my tables in wonderland to get a discount but still this was one of my most expensive meals.

was the first one to check in for lunch. there was 11 in our party. we were seated 20 minutes after checking in.
our waiter was great. the food was good and received the food in a timely manner. 8 of us ordered the milk shakes. simply - they are sooooo good. we were seated by the kitchen door so there was alot of action going on. would prefer not to be seated there next time.
this is a must for us each time we visit Disney, just love this restaurant.

Loved this place. It was quite crowded but we got a nice seat upstairs at a window with a view of the crowd and street below.
Our server was a 24 year veteran of the place named Mark. He was wonderful. This was only our second day on our trip and my girlfriend who was sick at the start of the trip hadn't got her appetite back. Mark took the time to explain each meal and which were generous portions and which were not. He was so helpful we raved about him as much as the food which was delicious.
We will definitely return here on our next trip.

Just wanted to post a few comments about my stay here 9/23-9/25/15. As the previous posters mentioned the bus rides are long to all the parks and the resort itself is fairly spread out.
That being said it was a charming resort and the rooms were as cozy and nice as any I've experienced as a DVC member.
We also stayed at Congress Park with the Disney Springs view which was simply beautiful and the five minute walk over was excellent.
Overall I would recommend to anyone they try this resort if they can stay at the Congress Park portion.
Pros:
cozy rooms/close to Disney SpringsCons:

This was our first time eating at Chef Mickey's. Only reservation I could get was for brunch. Which in the long run worked out well as we had tickets for the MNSSHP. We had a 2:20 seating but checked in early and were seated early. It was not insane with crowds which made it nice.
My expectation level for the quality of food was pretty low based on reviews I had read. However, I was surprised that the food was pretty decent. It was an eclectic mix of food though. They may want to rethink the food combinations for brunch. The kids portion of the buffet seemed limited...chicken nuggets, tater tots and waffles. The rest of the buffet had a nice variety of salads. There were BBQ ribs, ham...that the chef didn't seem interested in carving for the guests, salmon and sausages. There were some sides that just didn't seem to "go" with any of the meats. However, they were good individually. We really didn't part take too much of the dessert because we were going to have treats at the halloween party. Overall, it was a good experience and I will go back to Chef Mickey's but maybe not for brunch. I think I would like to try the dinner.

We stayed at this resort from 10-3 to 10-11. This was our first time at the Caribbean. We loved it. Everything about the resort was great. Check-in was a breeze. We had a preferred room in Trinadad North and it was well worth the extra money. We were very close to Old Port Royale and the bus stop. The room was clean and met all of our needs. It was great having the sliding doors to the bathroom area. It provided an extra area for us to get ready. Mousekeeping was great and helpful.
We used the Quick service dining plan. The food court was actually pretty good. We really only at breakfast there but the food was good. Occasionally, we had dinner and it was pretty standard fare but good.
I had read that the due to the fact the resort was so large the bus service was atrocious. We did not experience any issues. We had very little wait time at the resort to get a bus. I think we only had to stand on one instance as there were always enough seats to accomodate everyone. My cousin did note that the bus was very crowded one evening coming back from the Magic Kingdom but the MNSHP was also taking place. Other than that the bus system seemed good. It really didn't seem to take too much time to stop at each village.
We didn't use the resort pool but we did use the quiet pool one day while doing laundry. Very nice.
Final thoughts, yes, the resort is very large and would be difficult to navigate having not stayed in a preferred room. I will most certainly return to Caribbean. I have stayed in many deluxe and value resorts. This by far is my favorite!

This has always been one of our favorite spots to eat! It is one of our "must-dos" on every trip. However, this last visit was enough to keep us from returning for quite sometime. The service we received was simply awful. The server not only served my lunch wrong TWICE, but was not even upset over it. When the sandwich came out wrong a second time, she never came over to ensure that the order was correct. By the time she did come back to our table, my entire party was finished their lunch. When she asked how she could compensate me, I simply said that I would take another drink and not have to pay for it. She complied. However, after waiting much too long for her to come back to give us our check, she handed me a check for 2 drinks and an order of chips placed by another party member at my table. I told her that after getting my sandwich wrong TWICE, I did not expect to pay for 2 drinks and chips that didn't belong to me. She said she couldn't do anything about it. So I asked for the manager, and she told me that "the Manager was in a meeting." We paid but it didn't sit well with me. So I went to the front of the restaurant and asked another waiter for the Manager. The Manager came out and I told her what had transpired. She was mortified, and quickly reimbursed me 2 drinks and an order of chips. The Disney magic in the customer service is slowly disappearing. Thank heavens the Manager had enough grace to be embarrassed about a simple sandwich served wrong TWICE! If you do decide to have a meal at the Grand FL café, you could leave hungry and disappointed.
