The Disney World App Just Got a Game-Changing Update

You might’ve missed this new change to the My Disney Experience app, but it’s a BIG one!

The My Disney Experience app is the best tool you have for your Disney World vacation. It has maps for all the parks, lists all of the attraction wait times and showtimes, allows you to make dining reservations and mobile orders, and so much more. Well, the app just got even better!

The My Disney Experience app finally supports Disney Gift Cards as a default payment method. If you’ve ever had to deal with paying with Disney Gift Cards on the Disney World app in the past, you know how big a change this is.

There are times when we would have to put our GC numbers and EAN in the notes app, so we could copy and paste them over into MDE for a Mobile Order. However, we won’t have to do that anymore, as you can save the Disney Gift Card directly in the app. Simply go to MyDisney Wallet under Payment Method to add a gift card…

…and the card will be saved in the app. The saved gift card can then be used.

The gift card can be used for most purchases, including mobile orders for food, tickets, merchandise, and more. You won’t be able to use the gift card for Lightning Lane, as that’s not yet supported.

Finally, no more scrambling to find your gift card numbers while standing in line for food or merch. This is a HUGE game-changer that genuinely makes our Disney days so much easier, especially at EPCOT festivals.
