My family of 4 used the Deluxe Dining Plan for 4 nights in July. We were able to dine at the following restaurants: California Grill/Brunch at the Top, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Garden Grill, Teppen Edo, Boma, Narcoossees, The Plaza, BOG and Olivia's. We also were given 8 snack credits per person and refillable mugs. This was a great deal for the price.

Price

They used to have a great taco salad back when they served burgers, now they they have a bunch of bland options all served with black beans, this is supposed to be tex mex folks where are the pintos and refried beans black beans are not Tex Mex . The nachos had no cheese on them at all, put some grated chesse on at the toppings bar, but nachos without melted cheese are not nachos, the rest of the food was bland and served barely luke warm

Pros:

none

Cons:

Food is bland

We always eat here at least once each visit, but having gone in and found the Lighthouse sandwich removed we won't be visiting again. There is now nothing for a vegetarian on the menu, unless you want a side order of chilli and fries-to me thats not a meal like the sandwich was. Getting fed up now with the distinct lack of vegetarian alternatives everywhere

Pros:

Cons:

No Lighthouse sandwich

Review of Disney's Wilderness Lodge Concierge Level

My teenage daughter and I stayed in a standard view Club Level room, #7054. The view was not standard at all, it was of the Magic Kingdom and Contemporary Resort. The trees have been cut down for the new cabins so you could see both in the distance, which was a perk! The room is not as big as some of the other Deluxe Resorts but was fine for the two of us. Every inch of the room was neat and very clean. We received complimentary pins because of the construction, but we were NEVER bothered by any extra noise our entire stay.

Boat ride to Magic Kingdom was quick and efficient. The resort also offers buses to MK, but shares with Campground and Contemporary. A complaint with most Deluxe Resorts, you pay extra but share transportation? Also, we had an 9am dinning reservation and there was no transportation available at 8am? No boats and we waited 55 minutes for a bus that was coming in 10? I have no problem paying for a taxi to get somewhere early if I was given correct information at the bus depot.

The Front desk on the first floor was very helpful upon arrival, set up our magic bands while we waited for concierge to meet us. The entire Concierge staff on the seventh floor were amazing! Always eager to help with any question you had or just to say hello. Very kind.

The resort was very quiet while we were visiting and the resort is just pretty. We loved it and plan on returning for sure.

My reason for a 9? The Old Faithful Club closes its doors between meals, never had that before in Contemporary or Poly Club Level? With Roaring Forks Quick serve being closed during our visit, we should have had 24hr access to the drinks and such. Also, the only elevator access was at the very back of the resort and when you got off on your floor we had to walk back to the front of the resort to your room. That was due to construction, but still an issue after walking all day in the parks.

Review of Port Orleans Riverside Resort (Moderate Resort)

First time staying at POR. We had adjoining Royal rooms for our party of 6 in Parterre Place-building 95. We checked in and were told our rooms were ready. When we got to the rooms only one of them was ready. So we were upgraded to river-view rooms. Apparently, because we accessed one room with 3 of our magic bands their computer could not be changed to allow us to access the upgraded room with those 3 magic bands - even after 4 phone calls and 4 visits back to the concierge desk to get it fixed over the next 4 days. Renee at the concierge desk(she was very helpful) did give us 3 fastpasses for our trouble the 2nd day, but even regular key cards would not open our door. We had to access our room through the adjoining room for our entire stay! The river that runs through the middle of this resort is pretty but it makes the resort bigger. And because you have to walk to a bridge and cross the river to get to the foodcourt, store, lobby, and south depot(closest) bus stop, it feels even bigger. Our family has stayed on WDW property 15 times and this was the first time we have ever had to use any non-Disney transportation. We had no issues with the buses the first day. The 2nd afternoon going to AK we had waited for 40 minutes. The TV screen posts times for the next bus to each park and the time kept getting posted later & later until it was going to be 70 minutes or more waiting causing us to miss our FP time for Pandora, so we bailed and got a Mears taxi. This was at the South depot which is the 4th stop inside Riverside. We walked down to the French Quarter bus stop for all but one other trip in or out of the parks for the remainder of our trip. None of these incidents by themselves were horrible, but when taken together, this trip was tarnished compared to the sparkling experiences on all our other Disney trips. TTFN

Pros:

Beautiful landscaping and buildings; adequate sized rooms; comfy beds; 2 sinks; privacy curtain

Cons:

bus service; sheer size and layout of the property; room access

I got the Steak and Brisket, the steak was ok but the brisket was literally a slab of fat. My wife got the Cauliflower as a side and that too was oily and over cooked. The water was room temperature. The soup was fishy (shrimp soup) but not supposed to be. The kids got a salad from the allergy free menu that was still listed as containing Walnuts?!? The waiter was rude and obnoxious. The team leader at least tried to make it right but I didn't want free fast passes I really wanted Signature Service and Signature style food. A year of planning for a dinner that was very forgettable.
I would rather go to almost any other restaurant on property.

Pros:

Location

Cons:

Service and food quality

Review of Tutto Italia Restaurant - Italy

We had the Special of Chicken Parmagian and the Lasagna. First let me start with the complimentary green olives and Breads. Fabulous! Love their olives and the bread varieties from crusty bread slices to crisp bread sticks. Everything here is what you would expect from a signature restaurant. Our server Palo was friendly, funny and courteous. Our drinks never went empty and the olives and bread were refilled also. The lasagna is fabulous! The macaroni is fresh made, the ricotta is also fresh and the mozzarella and meat were evenly distributed. We come from NY where there are plenty of very good Italian restaurants and this is still our fsvorite overall! Chicken parm was also a huge hit. Tender breaded chicken wirh fresh Mozzarella and a light tomato sauce and once again fresh spaghetti. Fresh pasta is totally different than the boxed dry pasta we usually make at home.
By far my favorite restaurant on all the property!

Pros:

Great Food, Excellent Service, Atmosphere

Review of Yacht Club Resort (Deluxe Resort)

We have stayed at this hotel several times. The only major complaint is that there is no 24 hr snack bar like the Contemporary used to have. You also have to walk to the Beach Club Marketplace for food a lot,(there is nothing similar at the Yacht Club, although that may be soon to change) which is sort of fun,but not if you are on a tight schedule. Stormalong Bay is nice but a bit overrated. It is not a substitute for the water parks.

Not all Disney hotels handle the crowds well, but this one does. The lobby does not quite look as "Disney" as some of the hotels like the Contemporary do. The Yacht Club is a great choice if there are no younger kids in your party.

The Boardwalk looks just beautiful as the Magic Kingdom at night. It contributes to that "sleeping in the middle of the park feel." One problem is if you are spending a lot of nights at the Magic Kingdom, you have to take the bus at night, but the bus service was decent...most of the time. One time it felt like it took a long time to even get out of the Epcot/Disney Hollywood Studios area. It could just be because it was crowded, and the weather was bad it felt longer. I recommend spending at least one night at the Disney Studios, it is really nice simply to stroll back (or take the boat) back after. The Caption's Grille is one of the best restaurants at Walt Disney World, ever since the Concourse Steakhouse closed. We tried the Yachtsman Steakhouse one night. I got an upset stomach and another member of my party had to spend the whole night in the hotel room because of an even more upset stomach. It must have been an allergic reaction to a preservative they used or something.

It is a problem if you want to spend a lot of nights at the Magic Kingdom, but it is still one of the best hotels in Walt Disney World. The beach/yacht atmosphere is a perfect way to unwind from the parks.

Pros:

One of the best hotels in Walt Disney World. Perfect atmosphere to unwind from the parks

Cons:

No 24 hr snack bar, had to take bus to Magic Kingdom, expensive
