Our party of 7 ate here on 1/2/14. This by far was the best meal of the week!! The only negative was that we waited 35 mins past our ADR. Our server was wonderful and had a great sense of humor. He joked with the kids in the party about how they were pronouncing their orders, etc. Six of us had the Prix Fixe Meal and we were all completely stuffed- so much food!! The lobster bisque and french onion soup were both very tasty. The bisque had a nice amount of lobster in it. Our entrees included the macaroni and cheese, chicken and beef tenderloin. Everyone was pleased with their choices. Then came the dessert.... WOW!! Absolutely delicious! Creme brulee, profiteroles au chocolat and even the sorbet were out of this world. Even though we were all stuffed we could not stop eating the desserts! I can not wait to go back!! After having 3 prior subpar meals we needed this!! Definitely recommend!!!

Pros:

Food, service, everything!!

Cons:

wait for table

Review of Fairfax Fare

We grabbed a quick meal here on 12/30/13. I was super hesitant because of the negative reviews but the park was packed and we had fastpasses for Tower and rock and roller coaster. I had the Fairfax salad and DH had the BBQ sandwich. The salad was very good! DH loved the sandwich as well. This food was a much better option than burgers or pizzas. Fortunately, we ate early because the line moves slowly. I'm sure it gets backed up easily. We definitely will eat here again!

Pros:

Good fast food

Cons:

line to order

Review of Boardwalk Villas (Disney Vacation Club)

Our family of 6 stayed 12/29/13 - 1/4/14. We are DVC members and this is our home resort so we stay here frequently. First and foremost, you can not beat the location especially when it is prime season. I love not having to wait for transportation to 2 of the parks. We thought the cast members were wonderful, always willing to help. This is a big improvement from our last few trips. We loved the recently renovated bakery. The service and food was outstanding!!! For those not wanting to walk down there the Bellevue Lounge is easy to get to and never crowded. It doesn't offer nearly as much as the bakery but it is great for snacks and drink refills. Our only complaints are the lack of storage space in the rooms and the lack of a full length mirror. ( I have 3 girls!) I highly recommend staying here! We love it!

Pros:

Location, cast members,

Review of MagicBand

I was not a fan of the Magic Bands, and I don't like the whole next gen thing in general. Our problems started upon arrival at our resort. We came to the desk at 8:30pm after a long day of traveling. There was some glitch with activating our bands, and repeated reassurances of "it will only take five minutes to fix" turned into two and a half HOURS of waiting and waiting to get into our room. Ridiculous. We had no issues charging or using the dining plan. Because we used cast member admission, that was not linked to the band and we were also unable to take advantage of FP+. I found the band itself to be irritating to my skin and I disliked the texture. Wish they'd offer an alternative for people like me, but alas, they've totally done away with the Key to the World Cards!

Pros:

Convenient

Cons:

Difficulties with activation

Review of Disney Transportation Boat, Monorail, Bus, & Skyliner

We had a rental car this trip so didn't use the Disney transportation too often. However, on 1/9 and 1/10 we used the resort monorails from/to TTC to MK, and from/to Poly to MK. We never waited more than five minutes for a monorail. With a scooter in our party, the monorail cast was very helpful about loading us and phoning ahead to our destination to let them know we'd be getting off.

We did use the bus to get to/from Art of Animation from Magic Kingdom on 1/9. We left MK around 2:20pm and came back around 4:45. Both times the wait for a bus was about 10 minutes. While I was glad to see the Magic Kingdom bus loop expansion is complete, of course the values are farthest away, with AoA being the absolute last queue, #34.

Pros:

Monorails are consistent

We had a great time. My niece and nephew wanted the library; which was the dark room. It was nice & peaceful and the gray stuff was good! Dining at 8pm allowed for a quiet dining experience.

Pros:

Dinner was delicious, the library (room with rose) was dark and nice & quiet. 8pm ressie.

Very nice resort, but prefer Contemporary. The slide had ridges in it which hurt my back. It was very hot mid-September and the pool was too warm to cool me.

Pros:

Surprised with Concierge level room, with view of pool complex

Cons:

Miss taking monorail around Disney World, did not feel like Disney World without the monorail.

The wave pool is fun, but you do have to make your way out far to really enjoy it.
The water rides are spread out, unlike Blizzard Beach which are all close to each other as you enter park. Plus BB has mini golf course if you want a break from the water park.

Pros:

Wave pool

Cons:

water rides are spread out and not easily accessible
