Review of Casey's Corner

I am not sure why so many people rave about the corn dog nuggets at Casey's Corner. I ordered them on Wednesday, April 10, ate a couple with and without the cheese, and then threw them in the garbage. They were very greasy and not good.

The Wilderness Lodge is hands down my favorite resort at Disney World. It is secluded, peaceful and quiet with beautiful views. Geyser Point is my favorite spot to grab a drink and sit and watch the water taxis go back and forth. The food is very good at all the restaurants, lounges and quick service locations also. I could spend my entire trip at this resort and never even go to the parks and still have a great time. Taking the boats to Magic Kingdom is a quick, fun, beautiful ride, and this resort is much less expensive than the monorail resorts.
Pros:
Stunning lobby and grounds, less expensive than most deluxe resorts, great foodCons:

I was really looking forward to my stay at the Boardwalk, but this hotel was a huge disappointment, especially coming from a split stay at the Wilderness Lodge. The refurbished rooms are very pretty, but if they were going to spend all of that money you would think they would at least put in a new shower head like they did at Wilderness, but the room had the old shower heads. There was a gap under the door to the room that a small animal could crawl under, and it let in all the light and noise from the hallway. We had to use the fancy throw pillows to block out the light at night. The room had extremely thin walls and was very noisy. We could hear every noise from the hallway and the room next door. The resort in general is a very noisy place. The worst thing was that in order to refill your coffee mug in the morning, you had to get dressed, walk to the center of the hotel, which was a very long walk for us, then go down to the first floor, go outside, then walk halfway down the boardwalk to the Boardwalk Deli. There was a nice coffee location in the lobby called Carousel Coffee, but they do not refill the mugs and you had to purchase the coffee. That is also the only place to get any type of food, which is a very limited selection of pastries, otherwise it is back out to the Boardwalk. The hotel lounge does not open until 4pm, and does not serve any type of food. I have stayed at both the Yacht and Beach Club, Port Orleans French Quarter, Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs and Wilderness Lodge, and the Boardwalk is far and away the most inconvenient resort to try and get anything to eat or drink. AND it is very expensive on top of that. I disliked the circus vibes out at the main pool, and it was very noisy and chaotic, even early in the morning. The quiet pool was nice, but very small, and no bar. I could not wait to leave, and I would never stay there again.
Pros:
It's pretty. Quiet pool is nice. Good location to walk to Epcot.Cons:

I watched Luminous on Christmas day in 2023 and it was really special. EPCOT has had some great nighttime spectaculars and personally I don't think they have ever missed. This show is no exception. I have heard reviews say it's a really sad show and instead of coming out happy you'll come out emotional. I half agree, but I think it's a good thing. It really hits you in your feels and makes you relate to it. It's a nice mix of happy and sad and ends on a very optimistic note that left a smile on my face. It is also a good mix of original music and Disney music. This way it gives you a brand new show with new songs, but with tougher of nostalgia. The opening of the show gives me chills and bonus points for it being so spread out. Any view across the lagoon is a good one.
Pros:
Visually Beautiful, Fun Music, Easy ViewingCons:

The French Quarter is as good as it gets with moderate level pricing. The rooms are great with minor Princess and the Frog theming, the resort is along the water and there is a great walking trail, the pool is very fun and lively during the summer with a thrilling slide for young children, and of course it is home to the famous Mickey Mouse Beignets. The Dining option here is Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory. It's a decent spot with some good comfort food and a couple specialty dishes worth trying. Across the lobby is the Scat Cat's Lounge where you get those beignets and I was there quite a bit. This is the only spot on WDW property where you can get Mickey shaped ones and they are totally worth it. The seasonal flavors can be big hits as well. As a Disneyland local in California, I will say the Mickey beignets in the Disneyland Park are superior to these, but the ones in Port Orleans French Quarter will definitely hit the spot. One place the resort lacks is transportation. There is only bus transportation to all four parks and the water parks which can take some time and be a little inconsistent, BUT there is a great ferry boat ride over to Disney Springs which I highly recommend doing if time allows you to.
