The Genie plus system is the stupidest thing that Disney World has ever done. They should’ve at least gone back to the old fast pass system. That is what they are still using at the Disney in Tokyo. It’s more fair, and at least you have to apply yourself to get them. Now any bum with a cell phone and a credit card can book as much as they want. Making it impossible for the rest of us. Also, it is unfair that they only allow the most important ones to people staying on their properties. Forget the extra $15 a day per person…you’d have to be spending $300 to $400 a night!

None

Cons:

Too many to list.

Good Evening,
We would like to register a complaint. We purchased four lightning passes in addition to our regular park ticket for Animal Kingdom a couple weeks ago. Having used a fast pass before, we felt familiar with the process. Upon reaching the park we only then discovered the utterly ridiculous process involved in reserving a ride. In fact, we were only able to ride ONE ride the entire day due to rules. We were gravely irritated, to say the very least. We anticipated returning a couple weeks later for the Disney Marathon and made certain we were up at 7am to “plan our day”; except, there was zero “day planning to be had. We paid NINETY DOLLARS atop general admission FOR FOUR TICKETS and, again, due to the ridiculous parameters set forth we most certainly did NOT get our moneys worth. Please explain to me how you call it a “genie+” when it physically does nothing to plan your day? We booked one ride ONE RIDE and couldn’t book another for two hours and or the first booking had surpassed. Funny enough you don’t give available time slots so people can ACTUALLY plan their day with their family, you give ONE time slot. Said time slot could be for HOURS LATER in the day, alleviating the ability to do anything but standard lines until the time has passed. This is probably the largest and absolutely worst scam I have ever fallen victim too. EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE we asked why it was that way had two replies: Disney needed to recuperate lost revenue from covid and we’re not the first person to complain. Those answers were THROUGHOUT YOUR ENTIRE PARK. The only additional feedback we received was “due to the amount of complaints the process is being looked into.” This is such a regrettable situation. We walked around Animal Kingdom ALL day with nothing to do because of this scam. We weren’t able to use what cost us $360 but a couple times at Magic Kingdom due to this scam. We will be at Movie Studios tomorrow after the marathon and pray we will be able to enjoy ourselves, but until this is fixed and or returned to the way it used to be, we will not be returning. I imagine that doesn’t amount to a hill of beans to you, but I can assure you, in todays hard times NO ONE likes being taken advantage of and your company should be ashamed of themselves. Good day.

Pros:

You can jump one line.

Cons:

It’s cost $90 to be able to sign up for one ride hours later in the day, wait two hours before you can choose a second ride (also for later in the day), and you can not book another until the first ride has surpassed. TOTAL SCAM for another conglomerate to swindle you out of more money.

As a \\\"valued\\\" customer and passholder since the early 1990\\'s this is one of the biggest fails by Disney. Innovation is very important but this is not it. The system froze my phone screen for 30 minutes after telling me I had a reservation for Rides of the Resistance (which I am paying $15.00 per person to ride) only to have to reboot my phone to get the screen to move. No reservation existed after the reboot. This is sincerely just a way to raise prices and cloak it in better ride accessibility. Isn\\'t our admission cost supposed to provide us with the ability to ride the rides? Why not just honestly raise your prices and provide fast pass options?

Pros:

None

Cons:

Expensive, inconsistently works and hard to navigate at first. Not much use as a planning tool.

The magic is gone from Disney. This app is awful. I have wasted some much of my vacation time trying to have it work. I have visited guest services and called several times wasting hours of time. Totally disappointed with Disney. Don’t waste your time or money.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Complete waste of time and money.

Really not as bad as everyone says. Yes, it has a few thinks that could use some refining, but overall it was easy to use. I had to buy it daily while I was there, I did not like that I had to wait until I was physically in a park to purchase it. I never could get the purchase to go until I passed through the gates. I loved that it tracked my reservations, sent me alerts to remind me of our reservation times. I wish it would have given me alerts to characters we picked as wanting to see. We found the times to be rather spot on, and to book a lighting lane easy to do. We did miss out on a LL once because we thought we booked a different ride, but other than that no problems and used it as a tool to schedule out our day in the parks was perfect for us. One day we let our girls do the scheduling and then the next we took over scheduling. It was cool to see how many more rides each scheduler could get us on. It took us a hot minute to figure out the restaurants and ordering food but by our second day we had it mastered, was able to book walk ups and do mobile ordering like it was always a part of going to Disney. I will say watching how to videos that AllEARS did was a big help.
It would be awesome if they would color code things like pay for LL vs non pay for.
I also would love the alerts to be cool Disney sounds for different things like for a ride one sound for dinning reservation or something maybe another sound. There is still room for improvements but overall was a great tool to use. Also recommend you step to the side while using the app, Stop walking and using it I had so many people walking into me using the app while walking.
We loved Mobile check out in the stores, especially at the closing of the parks. We could make our selections and fly out the door without having to stand in a crazy long line.

Pros:

Easy to use. One place to go. LOVED Mobile check out from the stores.

Cons:

make sure you’re booking the right ride for your family. Not all items alert you.

In reality, you're lucky if you manage to reserve 2 lightening lanes in a day if you're not paying extra for the "fancy" rides. Most of the time you can only book 1 lightening lane for the most popular rides as everything becomes unavailable at 7:01am. Very glitchy and not user friendly at all. Even when you do manage to select a specific time, it'll reserve it for hours later than the time you selected.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Everything becomes unavailable 7:01am. You'll probably only get 2 lightening lanes unless you're paying extra for the "fancy" rides. Very glitchy.

After 12 years of going to Disney, Genie + will be the reason we stop

Pros:

None

Cons:

Stressful and full of glitches! You have no say when it gives you a pass, plans are constantly overlapping and everything is gone by 7:01, so you aren’t sleeping well to make sure you are up and ready, it freezes all the time and it’s so expensive. Paying a lot for a stressful thing that doesn’t work is not my idea of fun!
