We used LL for most of our days on our last trip (2 weeks, 3 days in each park) It was great in that we didn't have to wait in long lines but the fact that you now have to pay for something that used to be free is kind of annoying. If I had a family, I couldn't imagine paying that price each day for multiple people. For this trip I was only paying for myself, so a bit more manageable.

Pros:

little to no wait for most rides

Cons:

can get expensive

I have been going to Disney with my family every year for the past 11 years. We like to think of ourselves as “pros” of planning Disney and navigating the parks the most efficient way so that we can do everything we want to do. This was our first trip using the genie/genie plus system and I can genuinely say we will be taking a break from the Disney parks. We felt like we were on our phones 24/7 and it really sucked the magic of Disney out of our days in the park. We’ve decided to ONLY go to the after hours special event parties when they’re available because genie plus made our park days/ trip miserable.

Pros:

You can get on a ride faster than the normal wait time

Cons:

You have to be face down in your phone the entire time in the park and it’s SO EXPENSIVE.

the program is very bad..... charge more money for it and let people go to the front like universal much better plan fast pass is awesone this genie and lighting plan is very bad not worth the money what so ever!

Pros:

I GUESS YOU HAVE GOOD THOUGHTS TO TRY TO DO SOMETHING TO HELP WITH LINE BEST THING WAS FIREWORKS WAS AMAZING NO PLACES TO SIT WAS UPSETTING AND BEING TOLD TO PUSH FORWARD AND PACK THE CROWD IN MORE WAS ALSO UPSETTING (SHOULD OFFER PREMIUM SEATING FOR PEOPLE WILLING TO PAY MORE LIKE LUXURY BOX OR SOMETHING ALSO WHEN CROWDED IT IS VERY UNSAFE WITH STROLLERS OR WHEELCHAIRS FOR OLDER PEOPLE BECAUSE WHEN OVER EVERYONE GOES IN DIFFERENT DIRRECTIONS SERIOUS PROBLEMS THAT NEED TO BE FIXED

Cons:

WASTE OF MONEY 100% IF YOU DONT WAKE UP AT 7AM AND PURCHASE PLAN YOU WILL MISS OUT ON PROGRAM AND EVEN THEN YOU CAN ONLY SET UP ONE PLACE UNTIL YOU GET TO THE RIDE AND AT THAT TIME THEN YOU CAN PICK SOMETHING ELSE BUT IF YOU WANT A GOOD RIDE YOU WILL ONLY GET MAYBE ONE OR TWO RIDES AND YOU STILL HAVE 30-45 WAIT EVEN WITH LIGHTNING LANE PASS....so out on Disney

Don’t buy it not worth the money . You can reserve for a ride for fast lane but have to wait 2 hour until to use the fast lane . Trash . I wish I would of asked for more details . They only said for fast lane but never tell you the details it comes with it

Pros:

Fast lane for any reservation

Cons:

Have to wait 2 hours to reuse it which it’s not far if your paying to use fast lane

If you understand how to use the Genie+ service, it can greatly improve your park day (ie. less wait times in queues = more time to spend shopping, dining, exploring. etc). The system is very confusing at first, which docs this points on my rating. However, if you are able to take the time prior to your trip to prepare and learn Genie+, it will be worth it!

Pros:

Allows for a seamless park day

Cons:

Confusing at first, Price varies day-by-day

You can only book 1 lightening lane every 2 hours! You do not get any choice in the time to ride the ride, it gives you time slots. For example we booked our first lightening lane at 8am to ride for 720pm but then we had to wait until 11am to book a second lightening lane.

Pros:

The only pro is that you can see the ride wait time

Cons:

Everything

Awful Experience

Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

I tried to book a ride and the first time I could get was 6:25pm. If you are not staying at a resort you have to wait even longer to use the app. Not a fan!

Works very well if you do your research. Even though it's expensive and a hastle, you can skip big lines. In my experience, it has worked very well with me. I usually use this service everyday and I love skipping lines. I watched many tutorials and it went very smoothly, even with a party of 8. Using it allowed my party to see shows, have table service meals, and enjoy other small things. Overall, I would mostly recommend this service to anyone, especially if this is your only time going to Disney.

Pros:

Can skip big lines Let's you have a relaxed day You can enjoy many other experiences instead of waiting on lines Leaves time for table service meals (if you care about them)

Cons:

Sometimes expensive A hard system to navigate Can be hard to keep track if when to book, when to ride, etc You could be on your phone a lot

We just completed our 5 day trip to Disney World. I have been going there since the park first opened and must say this trip will sadly be my last. The magic is truly gone. I purchased Genie + for my family of 8 for almost $200 for one day. I was able to book one ride (Pirates of the Caribbean) at 7 am. Every time after that I had to call the helpline as the app was not working properly. I spent a total of almost 40 minutes on the phone. We were able to get on Dumbo and the Ariel ride. The woman who helped me offered me those two rides as they were available and fairly close to one another. They acknowledged my app was not working correctly and told me to go to Guest Services. So, another twenty minutes was wasted. The representative told me that all I could expect from Genie + was two or three rides and I was lucky that I had been able to book three. When I informed him that certainly Dumbo and Ariel didn't qualify as high value rides and I only was able to get those because I had to waste my vacation time calling, he was not concerned. I explained that the app was not working, didn't let me book what I wanted and I felt that the nearly $200 I spent in addition to my ticket (about $140 per person each day). He begrudgingly offered me one lightening pass per person for the following day. I vowed never to buy Genie + again, but my son bought it for the next day. He too had trouble with the app and was only able to get one ride. I have an iPhone he has a Samsung. He also complained and received no compensation. He had only purchased it for 4 people, so he was only out an additional $100.

Pros:

None

Cons:

App did not work
