Disney World has so many tasty treats and savory snacks that you can spend a whole day going around and trying different foods!

We recently went to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios to try some different snacks, and we’re bringing you a full review of our haul. Are these items worth grabbing the next time you’re at Disney World? Let’s find out!
Our first stop was at Sunshine Seasons at EPCOT, where we got the Mickey-shaped Strawberry Lemonade Macaron for $6.29. The overall flavor of the macaron leans more toward tart, tangy lemonade than the other lemon macaron Sunshine Seasons had for the Flower and Garden Festival. The icing filling has a soft, smooth texture that reminds us of soft royal icing and has a sweet lemon taste.

Strawberry jam filling is in the center of both ears and the center of the macaron. The jam has a fresh, sweet strawberry flavor but remains neat and structured in the middle instead of making a mess. The combination of the strawberry jam and lemon icing gives a balanced strawberry lemonade taste. The macaron shell has a pretty mild flavor which lets the filling be the main focus. The overall flavor profile is sweet and tart without being over the top or sickly sweet.

There’s a decorative pink drizzle on the front that adds a visual element but doesn’t have much of a flavor. Beware that the yellow on the macaron shell stains fingers quite a bit. It’s still manageable to eat, but it can become slightly messy in extended periods outdoors.

Our next stop was Rosie’s All-American Café at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to get the Plant-based Dog for $11.79. This “sausage” dog is much smaller than a traditional hot dog and looks more shriveled and compact. The texture is dense and chunky, and it took more chewing than a normal hot dog as well.

The flavor leans more earthy with a mild spice that gets stronger at the end with a bit of a spicy aftertaste. The lingering heat is noticeable after, and we’re pretty sure it came from the actual hot dog and not the toppings. The combination of the “sausage”, relish, BBQ aioli, and tomato creates a savory tomato-heavy flavor that’s reminiscent of marinara sauce or pizza sauce.

The tomato adds freshness and a crisp, slightly crunchy texture to each bite. The relish gives a bit of sweetness that contradicts the general spiciness of the dog. It’s a little visually unappealing because the relish mixed with the BBQ aioli gives it a neon green look.

The dog is served with house-made chips on the side that are relatively crunchy, but not all are fully cooked through. They’re very salty, and it’s hard to pick up on any other flavors because of it. The overall flavor is very different from a traditional hot dog in terms of consistency, spice, and sweetness.

We also grabbed the Red Velvet Riveter for $5.99 from Rosie’s All-American Café. This is a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, chocolate ganache, and a white chocolate coin garnish. The cake kept its shape a surprisingly long time, but fell in on itself almost immediately when we cut into it, and the cream cheese frosting melted. The chocolate ganache center has a thin and runny texture that reminds us of a lava cake when cut into.

The cake has a firm texture, with outer edges denser than those closer to the center. The outside edges of the cake have a crispier texture as well, but the whole thing is relatively dry and dense. The cream cheese frosting is rich and heavy in the flavors through the entire dessert.

The combined sweetness of the cream cheese frosting and chocolate ganache gives a strong, sweet aftertaste that could almost lean to be an artificial flavor, but we’re not sure from what. Although it made a mess from being in the heat, if you eat it right away, we’d imagine it wouldn’t create much of a mess with the frosting before it melts.

Our last stop at Hollywood Studios was Epic Eats to try the Pride Funnel Cake for $8.99. This is a Funnel Cake topped with fruity pebbles cereal, ube frosting drizzle, powdered sugar, and a small amount of vanilla soft serve.

They were very generous with the toppings, and the cereal and drizzle are the most prominent in the whole funnel cake. The soft serve melts almost instantly outside and disappears into the funnel cake after sitting for a few minutes.

The fruity pebbles are evenly distributed across the entire funnel cake and give it a sweet, fruity taste overall. The cereal loses its crunch pretty quickly, though. The softened cereal and melting ice cream create a sweet glaze surface. The ube drizzle has a faint vanilla flavor that gets overpowered by the cereal flavor. The combination of the cereal, powdered sugar, melted soft serve, and ube frosting makes it seem like a cereal milk-flavored funnel cake.

It has the softness of the cereal pieces but a firm crunch on the outside edges from the funnel cake, which was soft and fluffy on the inside. This is probably best enjoyed immediately after being served to be able to enjoy the soft serve and crunchiness of the cereal.
