While we often talk about the construction going on in Disney World, there’s PLENTY of construction happening over at Disneyland Resort as well!

The Disneyland Forward project is a massive, billion-dollar project intent on expanding the resort and its offerings, and part of that was increasing the amount of parking available. Now, we know for sure that one existing building is being torn down to make way for a new parking structure.
According to Theme Park IQ on X, Disneyland has just filed a permit to demolish the Team Disney Anaheim East building, currently used as an office building, to make way for the new Eastern Gateway Parking Structure construction. The permit is specifically for the DLR – S Manchester Building and will demolish the 70,732 sq ft office building. Utilities are to be capped, but the foundation is to remain.

As a reminder, we knew about the new transportation hub coming to Disneyland Resort as part of the DisneylandForward project, but DisneylandForward also called for “additional and new parking east and north of the theme parks and potential foot bridges across Harbor Boulevard and Disneyland Drive.” It’s certain that this is part of the goal to add more parking, but unclear if it will be the area where a footbridge will be added.
