Sometimes, all you really want to eat are some solid chicken tenders. Of course, you’ll want some sauces to dunk those tenders in, which is why we used to love going to Chicken Guy! in Disney Springs because it had SO many sauces.

However, the number of sauces at Chicken Guy! was greatly reduced in 2023. Enter KFC, which has decided to get into the chicken tenders and sauces game. We recently got to attend the grand opening of Saucy by KFC in Orlando, and we’re going to share our honest thoughts about Chicken Guy!’s new competition.
Saucy is a new venture by KFC where you can “dip, dunk, and customize” your meal with 11 sauces (that’s one more than Chicken Guy! currently offers in Disney Springs).

Saucy features chicken tenders, along with these 11 sauces, on its menu, along with sandwiches, fries, new beverages, desserts, and more. During the event, we got to test out some of what’s on the menu at Saucy. That includes the Saucy Loaded Fries, which are crinkle cut fries loaded with queso and chicken tender bits. This is a side dish, but we really think it’s more of a meal. It’s got delicious cheesy queso that works great with the chicken and fries.

You can also order sandwiches like the Saucy Ranchero Sammie, which is a chicken sandwich on a King’s Hawaiian roll with lettuce and cheese. This sandwich got soggy pretty fast, though, and the Hawaiian roll didn’t add as much sweet flavor as we wanted.

Of course, we’re here for the Chicken Tendies. They’re not the best chicken tenders we’ve ever had, but the sauces took them up a notch.

So let’s talk about the sauces. You can choose from 11 options. We got to sample the following sauces during the media event:
- Saucy’s Sauce — it’s a signature sauce similar to Raising Kane’s sauce.
- Korean Sweet Heat — it’s a spicy sauce with a sweet chili flavor
- Salsa Ranchero — think salsa mixed with ranch with hints of onion and cilantro
- Smokey Bacon Ranch — creamy ranch mixed with bacon
- Thai Sweet ‘n’ Spicy — the spiciest sauce you can get and one that packs a serious punch
- Saucy Ranch — it’s a standard ranch sauce

But let’s talk about our favorite sauce, the Creole Honey Mustard. It has such a wonderful seasoning that isn’t super sweet but just sweet enough to balance the spices in the sauce. This is the sauce you want to get, trust us.

The other sauces you’ll be able to get at Saucy include Caesar, Jalapeno Pesto Ranch, Sweet ‘N Saucy BBQ, and Sweet Teriyaki.
But you can also pick up dessert at Saucy, too, including the Puffies, which are like small beignets with powdered sugar. They also come with three sauces. Now, this isn’t a New Orleans quality beignet, but it’s close enough for us. You get a simple Chocolate Sauce, a Caramel Sauce (our favorite), and a tangy Raspberry Sauce (which made the puffies taste like jelly donuts).

Overall, we had a great experience at Saucy. The atmosphere is nice, although it is a bit of a drive from Disney World property, but if you’re in the neighborhood, you should definitely try it out. Get the Saucy Loaded Fries because that’s our favorite thing there!

Disclosure: We were invited by KFC to attend the grand opening of Saucy by KFC. This did not affect our reporting of the event — our opinions are our own.

I’m not sure what the big deal is about Chicken Guy. I’ve had better tenders in lots of places. My husband and I were both disappointed with it.
This is the Winter Park location at 925 S Orlando ave that had their Grand Opening on 1/10/26.
There’s one located in Winter Park on 17-92 and Fairbanks. There used to be a Chicken Guy up the road but it closed shortly after opening
